Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist: ALL the Teleporting Necron C’Tans!
Goatboy here. I read the rules for the Necron Hypercrypt Legion and thought – why not teleport a sackful of C’Tans around the tabletop and cause shenanigans?
The Hypercrypt Legion – hmmm. There has to be some way to make this interesting. Of course, the “correct” way would be Monoliths, Warriors, and other Necron stuff, but that sounds super boring and expected to me. So instead, I thought – why not teleport a bunch of pissed-off stargods around – causing all kinds of mischief? Especially those named ones that are on nice teensy bases.
The rule for the Hypercrypt Detachment allows you to pick up to three units from your army that are not in Engagement range at the end of your opponent’s turn. You put them into Strategic reserves. Then you get to “deploy” them during your turn from Reserves – granting you some fun dumb movement tricks you could do with a bunch of your C’Tans as needed. Or, at the very least, throw them around the table like some kind of tabletop madman.
Is this good? Maaaaaybe? Is this fun, and will give you a memorable game? Heck yeah! Plus, this army plays ALL the C’Tans, including the bad ones like the Deceiver – which might not be too bad as you can redeploy your monsters if you are going first or second. So dig to the bottom of your closet, dust off all your old pissed-off star gods, clean up their chipped paint, and get ready for some fun!
Of course I went with the Enhancement that lets me pull four units into reserves as I felt like it was a better option to play with. Plus four C’Tans disappearing and then showing up like some kind of crazy killer shark seems pretty dang cool!

Teleporting C’tan Tactics
This is a pretty simple Necron list. You run around and hit stuff and throw cosmic nonsense at other things. Your Reanimator is there to help pump up some wounds as needed and just be a pain to remove in the backfield with a squad of Wraiths and the true leader of this mess – a Technomancer. If you can’t have fun with a ton of big space god monsters then are you even a deathless Necron player at all?
