‘Godzilla Minus One: Minus Color’ – Black & White Remaster Coming to Theaters Next Week
See the hit movie in glorious black and white with Godzilla Minus One: Minus Color – it’s hitting theaters next week!
Since its big screen debut in 1954, Godzilla has become an icon not just of movies but television, comics, animation, and books. The force of nature has been a destroyer and a hero, an instrument of peace and chaos.
Most of the Godzilla movies released in the last couple of decades have shown a contemporary version of the King of Monsters or pit him against other giants like Kong. Godzilla Minus One goes back on the timeline to the start–it’s set in postwar Japan. One monster versus humanity. This giant lizard is no hero.
Godzilla: Minus One is the first new Toho Godzilla film since 2016. It’s being hailed as one of the best films of 2023 and has broken multiple box office records. The movie’s theatrical release was extended several times after it blew up its first week. The color print has left theaters, but there will be another chance to see it on the big screen next week.
Godzilla Minus One: Minus Color
Toho is offering fans the chance to see it in a whole new way later this month. They’re re-releasing Godzilla: Minus One in black and white. The first trailer evokes the look and feel of the original movie that debuted in 1954. The trailers look fantastic.
Godzilla-1.0/C (aka Minus One: Minus Color) will debut in Japanese theaters on January 12th and in the U.S. on January 26th. It’s currently set to run through February 1st, but that may be extended depending on box office numbers. I’d still snag a ticket ASAP.
