New RPG Roundup: ‘A Fistful of Draculas’, ‘Call of Cthulhu’ Adventure & More
It’s time to roll the dice on new releases! Come check out this week’s batch of brand-new tabletop role-playing games.
A Bestiary of Enchanted England – Fate
This is not your typical RPG bestiary. Folklore experts have gone off the beaten path to uncover authentic but little-known legends such as Eala, the haunted swan harp; Kenidjack, the bright-eyed demon of Cornwall; the Laidly Toad Queen; and the mysterious Merchicken of Portland! Familiar favorites such as elves and the afanc have been updated from their medieval origins to imagine them adapted to a Renaissance world. This book is full of lore, plot hooks, and illustrations to help make each of these 37 creatures the centerpiece or a truly memorable story.
A Murder in Whitewall – Exalted (3rd Edition)
When the Sidereal Velta and the Dragon-Blooded Lani arrive in Whitewall to investigate the shocking murder of a god, they find a mystery that points to Velta’s past in the city. As the pair follows the god slayer’s trail, they find an increasingly bizarre set of circumstances outside the confines of fate.
Something more is happening in Whitewall, and they must get to the bottom of it before the whole city is subsumed by a twisted destiny.
A Fistful of Draculas – Unique PbtA-like
A Fistful of Draculas is an all-in-one TTRPG about Draculas in the Old West.
Using a unique system, (influenced by PbtA and WoD), this book contains everything you need to run this game (other than dice). GM rules and unique character sheets for the players. This game is easy to learn and perfect for one-shots. Character creation takes minutes, and the character sheets lay out all the rules so the players always have it for reference.
If a mashup of Dracula and spaghetti westerns sounds fun, this is the game for you!!
Alone Against the Static – Call of Cthulhu
Alex and Charlie believe that a secluded weekend getaway in the Black Hills of South Dakota is just what they need to reinvigorate their marriage—but older and darker things than broken hearts exist in the forgotten places of the world.
Will they survive, alone against the static?
Bardic Music Fest – System Agnostic
There was an orc, his name was Brork, he hated mushroom stew
He saw a frog, its name was Mog, decided “time to cook”
He grabbed a stone, ’cause it is known, it changes frogs to blue
He threw it straight, the frog escaped, too-doo-doo-too-doo-doo
Brorks second trick: he wants to kick, destroyed his left shoe
What a chaff! Mog starts to laugh, cause that is what frogs do!
Bardic Music Fest is system-agnostic, however fantasy/historical focused tabletop RPG module which should be great for you to use in your campaign as a mini-game or just as a one-shot singing contest for you and your friends.
