Games Workshop has announced the two Warhammer Events Miniatures for 2024 and they both have a bird-like grace to them.

If you’re going to an official Warhammer Event in 2024 there’s a good chance you’ll be able to snag one (or both) of the special Event Miniatures. There’s one for Warhammer: 40,000 and one for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. Let’s take a quick look at both!

There are plenty of major Warhammer events each year, and to celebrate and support them, we release special edition miniatures that can be bought by attendees before anyone else. With AdeptiCon on the horizon in March, it’s time to announce the next two commemorative miniatures – the Hunter Strikes, and the Steel Rook.

Hunter Strikes – Warhammer 40k Miniature

The Kroot are getting a lot of attention this year so it’s fitting that a new Kroot Carnivore is the featured miniature. This pose has the Carnivore mid-strike after pouncing on the enemy.

I like the details of the ribs and bones they are carrying. Suddenly that butchers knife and meathook make a bit more sense. Perhaps this is the squad’s cook — or maybe they just like to help out in the kitchen.

Steel Rook – Warhammer: Age of Sigmar

This is the Steel Rook for AoS. You might be wondering where this miniature fits in the Mortal Realms. It’s an alternate version of the Arch-Knight from the Freeguild Command Corps. The Arch-Knights have a few different animal themes you can opt into when you’re building them. Now there’s a bird option. This version even has an actual rook on the base with him.

I like the bird details on this miniature and think the helmet is rather striking, too. I also appreciate the feathers that have been crafted on to the armor and also want to acknowledge the paint job is doing some work here. It’s a neat look overall.

If you want to get your hands on either of these miniatures your best bet is to get to an Official Warhammer Event. Your first crack will be at AdeptiCon which kicks off March 20th and goes until the 24th!
