2024 has arrived with a bang from GW. As the Old World cooks, the Age of Sigmar gets some of its mightiest heroes yet.

A trio of larger than life figures crash their way from the legendarium of the Mortal Realms onto your tabletop next week. Well, the pre-orders for them do. But you know what we mean. As ancient forces of Order and Destruction emerge to do battle, you get the chance to order some gorgeous new miniatures.

Three, in fact. There’s Trugg the Troggoth King, whose magical migraines give him arcane attacks, Ionus Cryptborn, a legendary Relictor searching for a cure for being Stormcast, and Belthanos, the First Thorn of Kurnoth. And their accompanying mounts and so on, of course.

Age of Sigmar – Heroes Of The Twin-Tailed Crusade

Starting with Trugg the Troggoth King we get a look at a big new bruiser for the Gloomspite Gitz. Trugg is in a pickle that feels like something that would happen to the Gloomspite forces. They have a knack for being both absolutely devastating and hilarious at the same time.

Trugg was slumbering deep beneath the earth when a city collapsed around him, and a strange, glowing magical altar (complete with plenty of “friends”) embedded itself atop his hulking shoulders. Now, the King of the Troggoths, so declared by Barggit da Rabble-Rowza, is unleashed upon the Mortal Realms. All he wants to do is get the altar off of him, but in his efforts ,he unleashes “torrents of arcane power that empower him with the magics of the Realms.”

Meanwhile, Belthanos, First Thorn of Kurnoth is a powerful Sylvaneth hero.. When the win-Tailed Crusade clashed with Ogor Gorgers in Ghyran, Belthanos and his Carnelian Greatspite emerged, “carrying a spark of the Sylvaneth god of the hunt” as they lead Kurnoth Hunters and Spiterider cavalry into battle.

Finally, there’s Ionus Cryptborn. Ionus was a legendary Lord Relictor, one of the first Stormcast Eternals. He’s been around since the Realmgate Wars, but has spent the ensuing time searching for a cure to being Stormcast. Well, to being Reforged and losing the sense of self. That tragic end that awaits Stormcast who fall and are reborn many times. He is joined by the ancient Stormdrake Cthorak, and brings soul-burning fire and the might of Sigmar to any battlefield.

All this, next week!
