Warhammer Next Week: Flesh-Eater Courts And A Lone Squat
The grand delusions of the Flesh-eater Courts are on full parade as the ghouls get new books, minis, and more.
Slavering ghouls dressed up in a grotesque mockery of the regal loves they once had are the order of the day. Next week’s preorder releases are here, and they bring ghoulish new minis, books, and more to the table.
Flesh-eater Courts take the center stage in two different books, Dawnbringers Book IV, The Mad King Rises, which features the heart of the gory delusions of grandeur that plague the Flesh-eaters, the new Mortarch of Delusion, and also Battletome: Flesh-eater Courts which updates the rules for said ghouls.
All this, plus a lone Squat with a mining laser, next week!
Flesh-eater Courts on Parade
It all kicks off with Dawnbringers Book IV, The Mad King Rises, the latest book in the saga of the Twin-Tailed Crusade. It promises to be a big one too, introducing a whole new Mortarch and Court, the Summercourt, as well as a new Army of Renown, and a regiment of renown for all six of Nagash’s Mortarchs.
Speaking of Mortarchs. Ushoran, Mortarch of Delusion is the big new centerpiece featured in the book:
Going by many names – the Sombre Paladin, the Lord of Masques, the Summerking – Ushoran is the powerful epicentre of the Flesh-eater delusion. A complex character who masks his bestial nature behind a suffocating illusion of chivalry, the Mortarch of Delusion is a hulking brute who casually carves through his foes as he leads his rancid ghouls to victory against the enemies of Nagash.
Joining Ushoran is the new Fang of the Blood Queen Regiments, which features a new character, Sekhar, her pet Serpent, as well as 10 Dire Wolves and 3 Fell Bats.
And the Flesh-eaters Battletome makes sure you’ve got all the latest rules for running the rest of your army, so long as thar army is full of rancid ghouls.
Accompanying the new Battletome are many of the ghouls of the Summercourt, starting with the ghoul in an intestinal judge’s wig:
Grand Justice Gormayne is able to send his allies into a frenzy, making them even more slavering and toothsome than they already are.
Abhorrant Cardinals “spread the word of Ushoran across the Mortal Realms.”
Royal Decapitators make sure the Flesh-eaters have the headcount they need.
While the Varghulf Courtiers serve as powerful champions.

Of course, it isn’t just Flesh-eaters this week. In the depths of Necromunda, the Ironhead Squats unleash a new unit, a Drill Master Champion with a Mining Laser surprisingly adept at shearing through armor.
