Goatboy here.  These are 5 of the best Warhammer 40K Lone Operative options in the 10th Edition right now.  Watch out!

The Lone Operative ability is a rule that is very powerful, not widely used everywhere, and something to always be on the look out for.  There are ways around it but for the most part these units can easily sit back, hold an objective, and sometimes cause your army problems with other cascading rules of annoyance.

Callidus Assassin – Imperial Agents

All of the Assassins have their uses, but the Callidus is one of the best.  It isn’t the most offensive of the options, but all of their rules are pretty amazing.  Beyond just having Lone Operative, this is one of the few ones in 40K 10th Edition that can “redeploy” throughout the game.  If the enemy is getting too close, this character can quickly poof away and show up in a whole different area if needed.  On top of that, they also have the ability to “increase” the price of a Stratagem after its first use. This is a pretty deadly ability that can easily shift a power that goes off every turn to something the enemy has to really question if they can utilize.  This is probably one of the best Imperial Allies in the game and something you will see if a good guy army has 90 points to spare.

The Blue Scribes – Chaos Daemons

With the nerf to Daemonic Allies for Chaos armies, this guy isn’t going to show up as much. But for those playing Chaos Daemons it’s s a great choice.  The ability to move fast, have fly and Lone Operative means this guy is going to be a pain to close in on.  The Blus Scribes has the option to put down Teleport Homers easily. This means this could be an easy to lock-in mission for a Daemon army to utilize as it tries to spread its shadow across the tabletop.

Deathleaper – Tyranids

The original boogieman from some of the fluff, this Tyranid bioform is the ultimate murder-spy.  A plethora of rules like infiltration, Lone Operative, and Fights first means this guy can quickly get somewhere as needed and take out a character with its precision attacks.  Plus, this model looks awesome as heck as this weird cloaked murder Tyranid on the prowl.

Hexmark Destroyers – Necrons

I remember when this kit was released it just didn’t make a ton of sense. A crazy assassin that didn’t shoot enough to kill enough.  Its new rules help it out by giving it Deep Strike as well as Lone Operative. This combo gives Necrons a nice drop option that can come out, hit an outer Objective, and be enough of a pain to get rid of that it makes it hard to invest the units into this weird multi-armed assassin.

Kelermorph – Genestealer Cult

This is one of the cooler models out there with how it is set up.  It has multiple arms, a cool look, and some neat rules where it can just show up.  I really think its gun is probably the coolest thing with sustained hits d3, Precision, and Devastating wounds.  I don’t see him showing up in a lot of lists right now.  But the Kelermorph feels like it is something that can easily get amped up in a new Detachment whenever the new GSC codex comes out.

These are some of the more interesting Lone Operatives out there right now.  I know there are others, but these five will show up on the tabletop.  I wonder if we’ll see more, especially as some of the armies get new updated characters, etc.
