Marvel: Crisis Protocol – More ‘Classic’ Character We Want To See
The 90’s X-Men animated show is making a come back and these are the ‘Classic’ Characters we hope show up in Marvel: Crisis Protocol.
With the release of X-Men ’97 right around the corner…I’m hyped. I grew up watching the 90’s cartoon and there’s a strong sense of nostalgia with this one. I’ve been rewatching the classic cartoons while building/painting up Marvel: Crisis Protocol miniatures and I’m shocked at the number of characters that showed up. I’m equally surprised we haven’t seen then pop-up on the tabletop but that could change when X-Men ’97 arrives.
Anyhow, here’s a few mutants and other characters that we how show up!
Jubilee

Okay, this one is kind of a no-brainer. We’ve got basically the entire main cast from the show at this point, except Jubilee! I feel like this is too big of an oversight to be a coincidence. Perhaps Atomic Mass Games is just holding on to this one for a little later release date. Besides, she could be a great Threat 2 character to have in the roster.
Seriously, no Jubilee? C’Mon…
Forge
Image: X-Men S1:E11 – Days of Future Past
Forge is an inventor with the mutant power that basically allows him to build any mechanical device he can dream-up…and it works. This might be cheating a little because he shows up as a future version of himself in the series…but he’s always been a favorite of mine and I hope we see him eventually.
Banshee
Image: X-Men S3:E5 – The Phoenix Saga, Part III: Cry of the Banshee
Sean Cassidy, aka Banshee, has the ability to manipulate sonic waves with his voice. He’s not as destructive as Black Bolt, which is probably a good thing. And he’s can use those Sonic Waves to allow him to fly and do a whole bunch of cool stuff. Regardless, he shows up in the Cartoon and with that bright green and yellow suit he’d be great to see on the tabletop!
Havok
Image: X-Men S3: E11 – Cold Comfort
Alex Summers — yes, brother of Cyclops, is also known as Havok. He can do a few things but his most well known ability is to generate plasma blasts. He’s had a few different costumes over the years but I, personally, like this incarnation of him. While yes, it’s very 90’s, he doesn’t have to stand around with his chest puffed out to emit the plasma blasts. Also, the episode where he shows up he and Cyclops basically don’t recognize each other. I always thought that was a funny mix-up.
Nasty Boys
Image: X-Men S2:E2 – Till Death Do Us Part (Part 2 of 2)
The Nasty Boys are basically henchmen of Mr. Sinister. They first show up in Season 2 and their team is made of four characters:
Gorgeous George – He’s the one in the middle of the picture. He’s one part Mr. Fantastic and one part tarpit.
Ruckus – Not gonna lie, this guy is basically Banshee but without all the trimmings. He’s just really loud. Pictured on the right.
Slab – Not pictured. Slab was a mutant with super strength, a bald head, and a brown vest (no shirt). I’m not really sure what his powers were overall other than he looked different and was ripped.
Hairbag – Pictured on the left, Hairbag’s power was that he had a terrible Jamaican accent and was mostly covered in hair…except for his face. He was a lot like Beast but without the Shakespeare quotes. Although if he had quoted The Bard with a Jamaican accent that would have been really cool!
Also, in the episode, Vertigo showed up but I don’t think she was technically part of the Nasty Boys even though she was working with Mr. Sinister at the time.
I’d also like to point out that AMG has a habit of sneaking in other characters into the Team Tactic card artwork. There’s Forge on the right as an example. So while some of these characters are kinda silly (looking at you Nasty Boys) some of the more mainline characters might just have a shot at showing up!
What other ‘Classic’ X-Men characters would you like to see show up in Marvel: Crisis Protocol?
