Paizo teams up with ttrpg audio maker Michael Ghelfi Studios to bring music and soundscapes to the world of Golarion in a big way.

Late last week, Paizo announced that it was teaming up with noted ttrpg music/audio design studio Michael Ghelfi Studios to develop a whole range of soundtrack albums for their upcoming Adventure Paths, starting with the Season of Ghosts.

The world of tabletop audio is becoming more and more expansive every day. But if you’re unfamiliar, there’s a whole lot out there. From custom music and soundtracks to ambient audioscapes, like the sounds of a bustling medieval city or the depths of the hells.

There’s a whole world out there. And it’s about to get bigger, thanks to Paizo’s new partnership.

Pathfinder Audio Ambience

In the announcement post, Paizo revealed that Michael Ghelfi Studios would be working on producing music for upcoming Adventure Paths. Season of Ghosts is where it will all begin:

“Paizo has officially partnered with Michael Ghelfi Studios—one of the industry’s leading producers of music and audio specifically tailored for TTRPGs—to produce original music for select and upcoming Pathfinder Adventure Paths! You can go check out our official Season of Ghosts Adventure Path trailer featuring a taste of that music, and download the first track—aptly titled “Season of Ghosts”—absolutely free, right here!

And in the Seasons of Ghosts trailer, you can hear the music at play.

You can also download the first track for free. Along with the initial Season of Ghosts news, Paizo announced that the next two Adventure Paths would be getting audio albums of their own. This means Seven Dooms for Sandpoint and Wardens of Wildwood will also be getting an album created just for the adventure:

“Each album is being created completely from scratch by a member of Michael Ghelfi’s award-winning team of composers, working from input provided by each Adventure Path’s lead developer on key themes, inspirations, major characters, and story beats. It’s our hope that, not only will this awesome music enhance your games today, but that years from now you’ll be able to listen to a track from one of these albums and immediately associate it with a memorable NPC or moment from your own campaign.”

The albums will be available as complete downloads on both the Paizo store and Michael Ghelfi Studios’ platforms, including Bandcamp, Spotify, and YouTube. And all of this is just the beginning. As they heavily insinuate in the announcement, “They don’t plan on stopping here.”
