‘Quiet Place: Day One’ – Aliens Attack in Prequel’s Terrifying First Trailer
Experience the day the world went quiet in the chaotic first trailer for Quiet Place: Day One.
A Quiet Place begins more than a year after sound-sensitive aliens attack Earth. It follows a family as they try to survive in a dangerous world filled with deadly creatures and humans taking advantage of the fallout.
The new chapter in the story goes back to the first day of the attack. In Quiet Place: Day One, we’ll follow a group of people in New York City as they contend with the creatures when they first arrive. The city is filled with chaos and terror—and it’s unclear how humanity will survive.
The creators are keeping the details close to the vest at this point, but it’s clear we’ll be getting a better look at the invasion and possibly some more about the aliens. So far, the focus has been on humans and their fight for survival.
Back when the first movie took theaters by storm, John Krasinski gave some insight into their creation (which includes an unexpected inspiration) to the Empire podcast…
““They are absolutely aliens. They’re from another planet. Where I developed the idea of them and what I wanted them to look like was most alien movies are about takeovers, agendas, they’re a thinking alien creature, and for me this idea of a predator, this idea of a parasite, this idea of something that is introduced into an ecosystem [was interesting]. One of my favorite movies I love to watch is RocknRolla and they tell that whole story about the crawfish in the Thames and that’s what I mean, the introduction of something that can’t be held back.”
Quiet Place: Day One Cast & Details
The cast is led by Lupita Nyong’o and also includes Joseph Quinn (aka Eddie from Stranger Things), Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O’Hare. Michael Sarnoski (Pig) is writing and directing from a story by franchise creator John Krasinski. The story is based on the characters and world for the series’ first installment back in 2018, created by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck.
Quiet Place: Day One debuts in theaters on June 28th.
This prequel isn’t the only Quiet Place project on the way. Krasinski is working on a third movie (to follow A Quiet Place 2) set in the main series saga. It’s slated to come out next year. A video game is also in development that will share continuity with the movies.
