Battlesuits come to Battlesector as the T’au Empire comes to Slitherine’s Warhammer 40K: Battlesector in a new DLC, out now.

Warhammer 40K: Battlesector is about as close as it gets to playing Warhammer 40K but on your computer instead of against a human opponent. If you haven’t tried it before, it’s a turn-based strategy game that puts you in command of the Blood Angels (if you’re playing the campaign), or as one of your favorite factions, and then unleashes you in all sorts of battles.

And developer Slitherine has been hard at work adding ever more factions to the base game. Including the caste-bound, Ethereal led space cows, the T’au. Yes, the Greater Good comes to Battlesector, bringing all their shiny new toys with them. Will Fire Warrior Breachers finally be good? Probably not, but let’s hold out hope anyway!

Warhammer 40K: Battlesector – T’au Empire Expansion

The young and technologically-advanced race is the latest playable faction in Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. Fourteen new units are available to extend the Greater Good to all the species of the galaxy. T’au are playable in Skirmish, Multiplayer and the game’s dynamic campaigns.

Specialising in long-ranged weaponry, the T’au has a diverse selection of unit types that use their technological prowess to gain the upperhand. Using its high-tech sensors, the XV88 Broadside Battlesuit can pinpoint enemy weak points that can be easily exploited. The XV25 Stealth Battlesuits can blend seamlessly into its surroundings to get the drop on foes and the formidable XV8 Crisis Battlesuit Team has access to a variety of devastating weapons.

The gang is all here. Including Breachers, regular Fire Warriors, Pathfinders, Drones, Ethereals, and more. And of course, you get the special HQ abilities, like Seeker Missile Strike, Manta Strike, and Orbital Ion Beam, to help bring even more devastating weaponry against your foes.

But even if you aren’t into the T’au, there’s still big news for any fan of Battlesector. Joining the DLC is the release of a new map editor, free to everyone:

Coinciding with the launch of the T’au DLC is the release of the free new Map Editor. By using an easy-to-use in-game tool, players can create their own custom maps and share them with the world via a cross-platform upload system. All player created maps will be available to be used in skirmishes, multiplayer, and in the Planetary Supremacy dynamic campaign. The map editor is out now on PC, while creations are downloadable on all platforms.
