Warhammer: 2024 US Open Series Announced – Plan Your Trips Now
Games Workshop has announced the dates and locations for the 2024 US Open Series. Start making travel plans for these events!
The US Open Series is back from Games Workshop for 2024. These events are celebrations of all things Warhammer and a great chance to participate in competitive events, the Grand Narrative, and even the World Championships! But let’s get to the important part: Where and When!
“Every event will host tournaments for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, Warhammer Underworlds, and Blood Bowl. There will also be Organised Play on offer for Legions Imperialis, and more at certain events.”
2024 US Open Series
Dallas, TX – May 16th-19th, 2024
Tacoma, WA – July 19th-21st, 2024
Tampa Bay, FL – October 11th-14th, 2024
Atlanta, GA – November 21st – 24th, 2024 – Grand Narrative and World Championships
These events won’t just have the Tournaments to play in either. GW is looking to expand a lot of these events into more activities to participate in. There will be “Warhammer board and video game rooms, painting competitions, evening activities in the gaming halls, and more thematic Hobby Challenges.” Additionally, Kill Team will be fully integrated into the Grand Narrative as well — there’s just going to be MORE to do outside of the big tournaments.
Every event is also going to have one of the GW travelling stores which will feature a TON of Warhammer goodies as well as some Forge World Resin kits you can purchase. There’s also some event-exclusives like the new miniatures GW showed off. Also be on the lookout for some Faction Objective mats, too.
Naturally, winners of the major Tournaments at the US Open will also be invited to the World Championships of Warhammer in Atlanta, Georgia this year. So if you want to go to the BIG show, you’ve got to earn a spot. Even if you can’t attend one of the US Open events, there are qualifying events around the world that Organizers can apply for.
This is pretty exciting news for Warhammer Fans in the US. Personally, I’m glad to see GW back in my home state of Texas once again. I’m also looking forward to checking out some of the other events beside the Tournaments. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy playing in Tournaments. But sometimes traveling with a full army can be a little rough. Having an option to attend one of these events outside of a car driving distance with a smaller force just might encourage folks to make the trip and play.
“Tickets go on sale on Saturday the 10th of February at 6pm GMT / 1pm EDT.” So set an alarm and do what you need to do to snag a ticket for the US Open Series!
