Games Workshop teases a big “storm is brewing” with latest Warhammer: Age of Sigmar teaser. Sigmar lied…apparently.

Not all is as it appears and the God-king Sigmar has been accused of lying. This could get interesting…

“After many trials, the foundations for both have been laid, and the difficult work of building continues. But something is brewing in the dark…

The God-king Sigmar lied – everything has a price. “

Sigmar Lied

…About what? We don’t know! In fact, there’s really not much to go on here at all. This is one of those teasers for the trailer things. Or a teaser that more announcements are coming. “More will be revealed” on March 20th at Adepticon. What could this possibly be?

We’re at the end of the Roadmap — actually we’re almost beyond it with the pre-order of Dawnbringers Book V out now. Fans have long speculated that Warhammer: Age of Sigmar’s next edition would be launching this Summer. Everything lines up in terms of timing so that’s very possible. A major announcement for the release at Adepticon checks out, too.

So again, we’re wondering what did Sigmar actually lie about? And perhaps more ominously what is this price that will be paid? Lore-wise we are seeing a lot of seeds being planted in the Dawnbringers books. You can read many of their snippets on WarCom here. Clearly Games Workshop is gearing up for a shift of some kind. This feels very much like the transition from one edition to the next. Think back to the build up of Malign Portents or more recently with Broken Realms. Dawnbringers sure does seem to read similarly.

This time around the finger is being pointed at Sigmar. Whatever secret he’s been hiding is going to come to light and the Mortal Realms won’t be the same afterwards. Will we see some fractions in the factions? Grab your popcorn because this drama is about to unfold!

Well, he’s already been dubbed a Soul-thief…
