D&D and Converse Team Up For 50th Anniversary Chucks
As unlikely a pairing as any adventuring party, WotC and Converse have teamed up to create some D&D-themed Chucks.
You know, this is one of those articles where you can just click on the headline, and you’ve basically got everything you need to know. Dungeons & Dragons and Converse revealed cool new shoes this past weekend at Gary Con XVI—and what shoes they were. Of course, you probably want to know when, where, and how to get them.
D&D and Converse Release 50th Anniversary Chucks
You’ll find Chuck Taylor All Stars in all sorts of D&D-themed configurations. These have a very retro feel to them, as they draw on art featuring characters from D&D’s past 50 years. Of particular note are the League of Malevolence shoes, which feature the evil sorcerer Kelek, the dread helmed Warduke, and Zarak the Assassin.
The entire collection highlights various scenes and ideas from throughout the long history of D&D. Doubtless, many gamers will relate to the sentiment on the “The Dice Taketh Away” shoes, which tell it exactly how it is. If you’ve played D&D for more than even a single session, you know well how it can go when the dice have it out for you.
Of course, the intricate details on all of these shoes are apparent throughout. These Kelek designs have a multifaceted star, which evokes the good ol’ d20 everyone knows and loves. You know there had to be marketing meetings where someone pitched a d20 in place of the star and this is as close as they came.
Or just grab the Ampersand shoes and rock D&D’s logo as you head up to your next session. Assuming you play D&D and wear shoes at the same time. In these days of Roll20 and other virtual tabletops, it’s even odds as to whether everyone you’re playing with is wearing pants, let alone shoes.
Regardless, you can find all of these shoes starting April 11th, 2024. The Converse x D&D Collection will be available at “select retailers” or online, from Converse.com. So keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks, and you’ll be sure to find these shoes.
No word on whether these shoes give you advantage on athletics checks in game, but hey, talk to your DM.
