Halo: Flashpoint From Mantic Games First Reveal – Send In The Spartans
Mantic Games has scored the Halo License and is producing a new Tabletop Miniatures Game. Meet Halo: Flashpoint.
Coming hot off the heels of a successful kickstarter, Mantic is back with more big news involving the Halo franchise. It appears that Mantic is bringing Halo back to the tabletop with a new game that involves “futuristic skirmish experiences” — it’s time for Halo: Flashpoint.

“You and your opponent will be taking command of highly-trained Spartan fireteams that clash against each other using combat tactics and iconic weapons from the Halo universe.
Once you’ve both mastered your battle strategies, you’ll be prepared for the dangerous foes and fresh conflicts waiting just over the horizon…”
Okay, so there’s really not a ton to go off of in the trailer. We get a bunch of Halo Infinite gameplay intercut with pictures of the painted Spartan miniatures. It’s a cool trailer and it’s evoking the rapid gameplay of the FPS game. How will that translate to the tabletop? That’s really what we want to know, too!
Based off the press release, it teasing some Spartan vs Spartan gameplay in a squad/skirmish style setting. The miniatures are going to be pre-assembled plastic miniatures and there will also be “pre-coloured easy-assembly terrain” as well.
There will be a new Halo: Flashpoint website launching later this month and if you’re going to Adepticon you’ll be able to snag a demo of the game from Mantic.
Personally, Halo always held a special place in my heart because of the impact it’s had on my personal gaming life. While the current Halo media offerings have been…spotty, I’m looking forward to seeing what Mantic does with this property. They’ve got quite a lot of design experience under their belt and have produced successful tabletop games. I’m rooting for them to get the feel of playing Halo gameplay right as they attempt to transition it to the tabletop.
