‘House of the Dragon’ Dueling Trailers Released – Choose Your Side
A bloody civil war begins in the second season of House of the Dragon. It’s time to choose whose side you’re on.
Season One ended with a tragic death that started the Dance of Dragons, the Targaryen civil war. The next season will detail the fractured family of Greens (those loyal to Queen Alicent Hightower) and Blacks (followers of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen) as they fight for supremacy on the fiery battlefield and with manipulative schemes. The writers have confirmed that the gruesome actions of Blood and Cheese will be showing up.
HBO has released two new trailers for the show, setting up an epic season of revenge-fueled battles and treachery.
This season will consist of eight episodes rather than the usual ten. Two fewer episodes feel like either it will be crunched. Hopefully they’re going to extend the run a couple of extra seasons to make up for the lack of time. Two hours is a lot of time in television. Let’s hope we don’t get a repeat of the last season of Game of Thrones, which could have been less horrible if given more time.
House of the Dragon Season 2 Cast
The key players who survived Season One are returning, including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, and Olivia Cooke. They’ll be joined by Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong and Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower. Plus Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, and Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull. A host of new dragons will also join the cast this season.
Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik stepped down as co-showrunner after Season One and has moved to executive producer. This season, his fellow co-showrunner Ryan Condal is leading the show alone.
The House of the Dragon Season 2 debuts on HBO on June 16th.
