‘Rebel Moon: The Scargiver’ – The Battle Really Begins in Part Two of Snyder’s Space Epic
Part One was a critical failure and a flop with its audience. Can Zack Snyder redeem himself? Check out the Rebel Moon: The Scargiver trailer.
Rebel Moon focuses on a tyrant’s invasion of a peaceful colony on the galaxy’s edge. A regent named Balisarius has deployed an army to take over and subjugate the people. In part one, the colony sends a Kora, a young woman with a mysterious past, to recruit deadly warriors from nearby planets to fight back and reclaim their home. Kora has a short time to build her team and devise a plan before one of Balisarius’ enforcers comes to collect the colony’s harvest.
You can watch part one on Netflix now.
Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scargiver
Part One involved a lot of meandering world-building (something Snyder isn’t great at) with plenty of slo-mo. The fight (something Snyder is better at) really begins in part two. Kora and her surviving crew return to Veldt to defend its people from the tyrannical Mother World and sadistic Admiral Atticus Noble.
The trailers for Rebel Moon: Scargiver feature intense one-on-one duels and explosive mass battles. Hopefully, the action will lead to better pacing and a tighter story this time around—or, at the very least, some fun.
Cast & Details
Sofia Boutella leads the cast as Kora. Her crew is played by Michiel Huisman, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Staz Nair, Doona Bae, E. Duffy, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Jena Malone, and Anthony Hopkins. The cast also includes Ed Skrein and Fra Fee as powers from the tyrannical Mother Planet.
Zach Snyder directs based on a screenplay he wrote with Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 4, Day Shift) and Kurt Johnstad (300, Atomic Blonde).
Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors. On the eve of their battle, they must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.
Rebel Moon: The Scargiver debuts on Netflix on April 19th.
