The Bretonnian Knights on Foot Kit is the Bretonnian Kit we all wanted 10 years ago. And it’s finally here.

The Knights of the Realm on Foot is a great kit. Just hands down, if you wanted human foot knights this is it! It’s been a long time coming and now that it’s finally here Old World Bretonnian fans should be excited. We got our hands on a copy of the kit from Games Workshop and we’ve assembled a few of them just to see them. They are just as characterful and unique as you’d expect for Bretonnians.

Bretonnian Knights on Foot

Starting off with one of the “generic” Knights with a two-handed axe as an example, this is just one way to build them. Each one of the Knights has layers of details waiting to be discovered. You’ve got the various different helmets with multiple animals/sigils on them. You’ve got the tabards with icons or embroidery. You’ve got armor — lots of armor — to work with.

And then all the little things that make up the Knights. For instance, this one has items on his belt that are probably important to him. What’s the backstory with that lock? Dunno! But you could make one up for each bit of kit on each Knight.

I think that’s the real magic of this kit. There’s so many interchangeable bits that you can really create unique mini-characters from each Knight. And then you can get lost in the painting of them, too. This is just two example of the various head crests and torso/leg combos. Even the weapons themselves are different. You can really go nuts with this kit in all the best possible ways.

Here’s quick look at the unit musician. Again, this is just one “version” you can build. without trying too hard you could do some simple things like arm/head swaps just to make them different. The tabard again is a pretty large open canvas so you can paint each one unique.

I think my only real gripe about this kit is the Standard. I wish that there were more options for the actual standard. The Knight bringing it into battle has loads of customization options. Again, with minimal hobby knowledge you could do an arm swap and there’s loads of heads to work with.

If you’re an old school Bretonnian fan then hopefully you can get your hands on this kit. It’s exactly the thing you’ve been wanting and I know it’s been a very long time since you had any new models/units to really add to your army. Finally, you’ve got an infantry option besides Men-at-Arms to use! And they look great doing battle.

The Knights of the Realm on Foot are currently up for Pre-order and will be in stores (hopefully) on March 16, 2024.

Now, do you paint them with the same basic color palette or do you go real Old School and paint them all uniquely different?!
