Age of Sigmar: White Dwarf 500 Celebrates With A New Grombrindal Miniature
White Dwarf is releasing a limited edition White Dwarf to celebrate their 500th issue of White Dwarf. It’s a White Dwarf Party!
As far as print magazines go White Dwarf has been leading the charge for all things Warhammer for a long time. In print since 1977 (with an occasional break here and there) it’s been a feature that’s had a lot to say about Warhammer. From rules changes and FAQs, to updates, army lists, battle reports, lore bombs, and countless hobby tips and articles it’s been a Warhammer building block for years. And it’s quickly approaching it’s landmark 500th issue!
To celebrate, Games Workshop is releasing a new miniature for the White Dwarf, Grombrindal, himself!
“The White Dwarf is something of a legend. In the Mortal Realms, he is said to be the physical manifestation of an archetype, forged into flesh and blood by Grungni himself, a hero who appears to lead the duardin in their most desperate moments. “
Grombrindal, The White Dwarf
This miniature is dressed and ready for a fight this time around. Depicting Grombrindal in action you can see the nods to the current Mortal Realms crop of Kharadron Overlords and Fyreslayers in his kit. You can also see the remains of the gear of slain adversaries at his feet as he stands triumphantly.
“Grombrindal dons many guises when appearing to his people – be that the wise and witty elder statesman, the grim and stalwart protector, or the fearsome warrior-king. He is whatever his people need him to be when the chips are down, and action must be taken – which is quite often, given how violent and unpredictable life is in the Mortal Realms.”
This miniature will be released with the 500th issue of White Dwarf next month. He’s only going to be around for a limited time, so snag him while you can! Additionally, this version of Grombrindal will have more uses on the tabletop…
“[Grombrindal] will receive Legends rules for use in Warhammer Age of Sigmar, alongside rules for Cursed City, Warcry, and Warhammer Underworlds. There will also be a selection of special battle plans and scenarios in the magazine, so it looks like his list of jobs is about to get a little longer…”
I’m still getting over the fact that White Dwarf has been around for so long and we’re nearing 500 issues! And here comes Grombrindal with a sweet new miniature ready to throwdown on the tabletop and multiple board games, too. So let’s hear some cheers for White Dwarf and Grombrindal in the comments.
