Classic Game of “Fantasy Literature” ‘Divine Right’ is Back and More Kickstarter Highlights
Come check out this week’s batch of crowdfunding and Kickstarter highlights – including board games, RPGs, and STLs!
Craft & Conquer: Medieval – An Epic Strategy Board Game!
One of my biggest complaints with combat strategy games (other than being awful at them), is that very often they become very “samey”. Craft & Conquer: Medieval deals with these issues by adding a modular board, crafting mechanics and some worker placement elements. Add onto that a great, clean presentation and you’ve got yourself a winner.
Craft and Conquer: Medieval is a fun and competitive game of conquest where you collect, craft, deploy and conquer other players in classic turn-based strategy gameplay.
Resources are gathered and used to build your armies which are deployed to achieve objectives while defending against or attacking your opponents’ units and settlements. The game is played in approximately 60 to 120 minutes depending on the number players and objectives in play.
To play the game, all players are given a number of objective cards to complete. The first player to complete that number of objectives ends the game. But be weary, he or she may
not be the actual winner. The player with the most points scored by the total value of their objective cards will become the “king of the land”.
Dark Gods – The Forsaken
It’s pretty rare to see STLs of big base minis, and these are definitely that. Up to 130mm to be exact. Add some unique flair to your undead armies with the Dark Gods set.
Divine Right
If retro fantasy board games have no fans, then I am dead. Divine Right was originally released by TSR in 1979 and it’s back! Like most retro fantasy hex-chit games, there is a lot packed into this one. But like most modern reprints of those games, this one comes with a modern lens that makes it much less of a slog.
Expect a very deep game where the fantasy is as high as the strategy.
Divine Right is a classic fantasy board war game originally published in 1979 by the Game Wizards at TSR. Divine Right is a game with 45 years of history, lore, optional rules, books written by the designer Glenn Rahman (available on Amazon) and more built into it. Playable by 2 to 6 players in 2 – 6 hours.
DIVINE RIGHT is more than just a game. It is a work of fantasy literature, in which you, the players, control the destinies of nations. You organize the alliances, seek out the magical treasures, and lead your armies and fleets to battles, sieges, plunder, and (if you have been wise) victory.

Elder Mythos Roleplaying Game
We all love the Cthluhu mythos, but why do we always have to be stuck in the drudgery of humanity? Wouldn’t it be more fun to be the Lovecraftian Entities vying to destroy or control the world? Elder Mythos says yes!
Venture beyond the veil of reality with Elder Mythos, become one of the ancient entities and unleash unspeakable horrors. Join us in a cosmic horror saga that transcends human comprehension. The fate of the world is at stake: will you rule it or will you throw it into chaos?
Elder Mythos is a cosmic horror tabletop role-playing game in which players will incarnate frightening Lovecraftian Entities vying to destroy or control the world. Through shared worldbuilding or by choosing a Scenario, players will weave a conversation that will create a cosmic horror narrative.
Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game
I mean this in the best way possible: This idea is so silly, and I love it. Everyone knows every long-standing piece of media must eventually have a train murder mystery. Even Sonic the Hedgehog had one. And now, Call of Cthulhu can now properly join those ranks.
Horror on the Orient Express: The Board Game lures you into the luxurious Orient Express in the 1920s, taking you on a dangerous train ride into the realm of the Dreamlands. Everything is against you, from monsters attacking the train to murderous cults hiding among the passengers. Worst of all, an eldritch, blood-thirsty vampire hunting down everything that moves. Can you solve the dark secrets of the Orient Express before time runs out?
AdvertisementIn this cooperative game, you and the other investigators try to survive on the doomed train. To win, you must hunt out the cultists to stop them from performing a hideous ritual and ensure the train reaches its destination. Each of you controls a character who can develop new skills, gather items, talk to the passengers, discover clues, and, ultimately, decide the train’s fate. You may even learn a spell or two!
