Warhammer: The Old World FAQs Now Available – Legends Updates & More
Games Workshop has unleashed the Old World. Now they have put out an FAQ and Errata for the game along with army updates.
The first batch of FAQs and Errata are out now for Warhammer: The Old World. There’s exactly what you’d expect with this release as the game is only a couple months old at this point. There’s a lot of little tweaks and clarifications but nothing “major” in terms of rules. You can check out all the FAQs from Games Workshop HERE. That said, we’re going to dive more into what the designers are saying about this update.
“Armed with your questions, we’ve updated the initial Old World FAQ document (which included a combination of questions the designers and playtesters anticipated would come up) and added two more; one for Ravening Hordes and one for Forces of Fantasy. Both of these incorporate the relevant Arcane Journals. In all of these we’ve addressed the questions asked most often and, where appropriate, added commentary in order to add clarity.
We’ve also taken the opportunity to make a few adjustments in the form of errata. For example, we’ve amended some of the universal special rules, making it more clear how they interact with units and characters.
Finally, we’ve updated the Legacy army lists, strictly in order to correct some errors that had crept in when we wrote them. If you’re using one of those, please make sure you have the most up-to-date version downloaded.”
Warhammer: The Old World Armies
If you were playing with any of these Warhammer Legends Armies you did get a few other changes. Be sure you’re checking these for the most up-to-date version of your rules.
Additionally, a pair of new FAQs are out for both Ravening Hordes and Forces of Fantasy.
That should cover just about every army in currently playable in the game. As these are still fairly fresh, I haven’t had a chance to go through them all with a fine tooth comb. However, in general, these are relatively quick updates. If you’re playing Old World you definitely should read your armies FAQ. And if you’ve got some extra time check the other ones out.
No Major Rules Or Army List Changes?
Games Workshop also noted that they didn’t go in and make any major changes to the core rules/game play or army lists. They felt the game is still in that “new” state and players are still sorting out rules, strategies, and their own armies. While the case can be made this is really an update 10 years in the making for Warhammer Fantasy I can appreciate them not wanting to rock the boat that much this early. For now, it seems that GW is happy with the overall state of the game and is counting this as a success.
Now they just need a better way to get more of miniatures we need to expand beyond an army box…
