The Flesh-eater Courts are bringing the cannibal kingdom to the tabletop next edition. Let’s see how they plan on doing just that.

The Summerking has called his court. They’ve feasted and now they are well rested for the battles ahead. Get ready for the Flesh-eater Courts to unleash their judgements upon the land…or something. I’m not sure if that’s the right type of court. Anyhow, let’s see what these blood-suckers are up to in the new edition!

via Warhammer Community

“These are the sickly-sweet words that the seneschals of the Flesh-eater Courts believe they are uttering – though their enemies instead hear only the guttural howls of ensorceled mania.

For these are not the chivalrous knights they believe themselves to be, so much as sallow-skinned cannibals twisted by an ancient curse. They are hideous fiends raising banners of flayed flesh and brandishing weapons steeped in festering gore, suffused with the reek of death as they pillage and devour. “

Flesh-Eater Courts – Battle Traits

Noble Deeds is back and it’s similar to what it was before. You’re still building up noble deeds points and you can spend them later with things like Muster Guard and Summon Loyal Subjects. Feeding Frenzy also uh…feeds off noble deeds points, too. If you get 6, it adds a potent +1 attacks to FEC units nearby. And then we have Royal Blood which is just a straight-up heal for Abhorrants for D3.

Battle Formation – Ghoul Patrol

Here we have the Ghoul Patrol. This basically allows you to double-up on Crypt Ghoul units that can fight. I think this could be really nasty if you build around it and have multiple Crypt Ghouls attacking back-to-back with the double activations! Additionally, there are of course other Battle Formations to work with.

“Other Battle Formations see the lords and ladies of Cannibal Courts step to the fore, rewarding noble deeds achieved in enemy territory. The Lords of the Manor rally more soldiers to the cause, while the Royal Menagerie brings its most ferocious monsters to the battlefield, goading them to strike with unnatural speed. “

Flesh-eater Courts Magic

How do you like your noble steeds? Because the Flesh-eater Courts like them very stampede-y. On a 7, you get to bust out what was basically an Endless Spell from previous edition. But here we get a look at the new format of this classic.

It’s got the fly-over damage and once it gets into combat it’s got 10 swings to dish out attacks with. It’s not particularly tough with a 5+ armor but it does have 10 wounds to chew on. I think this could be a great speedbump to throw at your enemies!

Flesh-eater Courts Warscrolls

Like the previous Faction Focus articles we’ve got a handful of Warscrolls to chew on. Once again, you can read them all below and I’ll spare you my comments on them. Although I’d recommend giving Ushoran a closer look…

Flesh-eater Courts Spearhead – Carrion Retainers

Contents:

  • 1x Abhorrant Archregent
  • 1x Varghulf Courtier
  • 3x Morbheg Knights
  • 10x Cryptguard

In case you were wondering, yes it is the exact same as the current Spearhead box. Again, I can’t stress this enough, if you were wanting to play FEC or get started with them I HIGHLY recommend you snag this Spearhead box before the price hikes coming less than a week! Save yourself some cash.

We also got a look at the Battle Traits for the Spearhead. And you can see it’s similar to their full rules but also slightly simplified for the format. Not a bad way to relearn if you ask me.

The Court of the Summerking is in session. I hope you brought something for the feast…
