The noblest knights in the Relams may have just gotten a fresh battletome, but there’s still room for Flesh-Eater courts grow in AoS 4.0.

Welcome in, Generals of the Realms! When it comes to nobility, honor, and chivalry, there’s none better in all the Realms than the legions of Ushoran the Summerking. Loyal retainers bound in the finest armor the great lord Nagash can provide, they ride to battle on mighty steeds to put down any vile beast or heretic that would dare stand against the mighty and just lords of Death. At least, that’s how they see themselves.

In truth, the Flesh-Eater Courts are vile monsters that devour all in their path, ravenous cannibals driven mad by Nagash’s influence. Their latest battletome gave them a ton of new goodies, and they’re absolute monsters on the battlefield. However, every army can use some improvements, and with the way 4.0 is rumored to work, there are a few things the FEC will need to stay competitive.

Improved Noble Deeds

Flesh-Eater Courts fuel most of their summoning and powerful abilities with Noble Deeds points, which they receive for dealing damage, casting spells, or chanting prayers. However, I’d love to see that get a bit of an overhaul. There’s nothing exciting about just doing a thing, so while I do want them to keep the current ability, I’d also love to see them get extra deeds for slaying great foes like Heroes or Monsters. Basically, I want the noble deeds to feel more like great quests. In fact, I’d love a PtG adjacent mechanic that allows a hero to dictate a quest or deed to perform, gaining Noble Deeds on a success and maybe taking wounds on a failure.

A Return of Old “Blood Frenzy”

One of the things that made Flesh-Eater Courts so scary in the past was how dangerous they got when they charged into battle. They could unleash a tidal wave of attacks, and even though they weren’t very powerful, enough dirt could stop a tank. I hope that they’ll return to their deadly combat steps of old or at least get some sort of reaction to charge through an enemy into the next one after they take it out.

Healing on Kills

The FEC are given their name for a reason, and I’d love to see it have in-game implications. When they take out an enemy unit, it would be cool if they healed or restored models to their units, to represent the warriors feasting on the dead to heal their wounds, even fatal ones. This could even be a reaction ability usable after the combat phase rather than a baked-in effect, but I just want the Flesh Eating part to matter in game terms.
