This ain’t a Jack — it’s a skull. What could Games Workshop be teasing with the latest Rumor Engine this week? Start your theorizing!

Welcome to yet another Tuesday and a brand new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. This week’s tease features a macabre sight. We’ve got a skull. And it’s in a box. And that box has a handle? Hmm…

“Asking who would carry a skull around in a convenient, portable box narrows it down a little, but there’s still plenty of things that today’s Rumour Engine image could be. There are five fingers, at least, so that rules out T’au…”

Well, they aren’t wrong! It does appear that the hand holding the box does indeed have five fingers. That really does put a damper on the T’au for this teaser. My gut reaction was actually the Cities of Sigmar because they are known to bring reliquaries featuring their ancestors with them into battle.

I was also thinking perhaps this could be some sort of Astra Militarum option as well. Although they don’t really carry such reliquaries into battle. At least, not like this. I will say I don’t think it’s a Space Marine. Just because of the lack of a gauntlet. Another option is the ever growing random Warcry Warbands.

Games Workshop does like to sneak in teasers for those every now and again. Really, this could be any number of things. That’s kind of the problem with a Skull in the Rumor Engine — Warhammer is FULL of Skulls. Just about every faction has them around and sometimes they are even standing on them.

So what do you think? What the heck could this Rumor Engine be teasing? If you’ve got any ideas drop them in the comments and share them with the rest of the class — we want to know your theories!

Last guess: Necromunda Ganger carrying a relic out of Hive Secundus.
