‘Warhammer 40K: Imperium Maledictum’ RPG Starter Set – The Macharian Sector Beckons
Imperium Maledictum is the spiritual successor to Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader, available now on DriveThruRPG.
Dark Heresy is a name that conjures up all sorts of memories among the 40K player base. It was the 40K RPG that spawned a thousand different supplements, including one for playing as hapless members of the Imperial Guard, destined to die to one of the numerous horrors of the 41st Millennium. It was grim, perilous, and surprisingly clunky in a few places. But in spite of that, it carved out a lasting legacy.
Now, Imperium Maledictum is poised to fill those power-armored shoes. Imperium Maledcitcum is, as Cubicle 7 puts it, their “spiritual successor to Dark Heresy“. It’s a noir-ish tale of investigation storytelling mixed with deadly action. You play as agents of the Imperium out to try and save the galaxy, or at least one small corner of it, from the myriad plots that threaten humanity every single day.
And now, a new starter set gives you everything you need to jump right into the game and see if it’s the 40K RPG you’ve been dreaming of.
Warhammer 40K: Imperium Maledictum Starter Set
Herey and corruption have taken root in the Macharian Sector, a teeming expanse of industrious worlds in the God Emperor’s Imperium of Man. The fate of an entire sector lies in doubt. Powerful individuals from across the Imperium’s factions and their agents vie for control against dark cults, traitors, daemons and vile xenos who lurk shrouded in the ever-encroaching darkness.
The Imperium Maledictum Starter Set comes with a full set of everything you need to play the game. Starting with an introductory adventure, The Blazing Seraph, which teaches the rules of the game. There’s also a setting book, Rokarth: A Guide to the Hive, which details additional locations and plots unfolding in the sector. There are also six pre-generated characters and all the handouts, tokens, and dice you might expect from a starter box like this one.
This Starter Set is, of course, just the beginning. Cubicle 7 has promised to share more on the future of Imperium Maledictum in the coming weeks. So keep an eye out for more news from the Marcharian Sector.
