Warhammer 40K: The Unbeatable List – GW Dallas US Open 2024 Edition
Sam Pope took home the gold at the Dallas Open 2024. Here’s his list that went all the way at the GW Dallas US Open!
Goatboy here and I survive the GW Dallas US Open and lived to tell about it. Your faithful scribe really did survive the drive up from Austin TX, to the Dallas Open through a torrential downpour that made a 2.5 hour drive into a 4.5 hour drive. Heck we only stopped at Buc-ee’s once so I could walk around, shake off the mind numbing rain drive, and get a BBQ Sammie. But we made it, I brought my Chaos Daemons, and continue to hate my stupid Lord of Change. But enough about me, let’s talk all about who won the whole shebang!
Sam Pope won the GT facing off against Colin Mcdade in the finals with his Bullyboy Ork list. Sam won with the always-feared Tyranid Swarm list that gums up the board, keeps you from getting the Primary, and just is a pain in the butt to remove. It is always a threat list and an old guy like me won’t play it because moving that many models makes my back hurt just thinking about it.
Here is the list copied from the BCP App. It has a wonderful little bot of fun narrative at the top and a good job by Sam Pope with just a crap ton of gribbly little Tyranid jerks screeching across the tabletop.
“Turn your bullets on the swarm, and you get crushed by the load-bearing beasts watching them. Turn your bullets on the gun-beasts, and watch as the fair surface of your homeworld is scoured clean and left to rot.”
– Imperial Tactician Hastund VI, Year [REDACTED]

How the List Works
As you can see this Tyranid Unbeatable List is the big blob of nonsense and usually a wonderful list to play in team events are just a slog to chew through. There are some lists that can hurt it, but for the most part, it is a pain in the butt to get through all that stuff. It can easily rock the primary and just keep all their good things safe and sound, surrounded by their gross little friends. It is a list we all have seen written about and it is pretty awesome for Sam to win with it.
If you can’t figure out what this list does – it floods the table with tons of models , with some that can come back and just make it a chore to get through it all. Plus the list can stack up some damage too with fun Swarm abilities and Stratagems. It feels like the army you fight against in the new upcoming Space Marine game as you see endless waves and waves of Tyranid nonsense on the tabletop.
In closing ,I had a great time at the event. I love going to the GW events and I always try to make at least one a year. Thankfully this time around it was in Texas in a pretty sweet E Sport Arena that had a cool front section, screens all over, and just a sweet feeling. Heck round 2 had me playing on the screen versus Alamo GT Event Coordinator David Villareal where you can see me lose out to Ad Mech. I don’t know about you, but obviously Ad Mech don’t need any help. I ended up 3-3 and all my losses were close games that were a ton of fun.
Everyone give it up to Sam Pope for taking it this list all the way to the winner’s circle! Well played sir!
