Warhammer Next Week: Chaos in the Mortal Realms and Made to Order 40K Terrain
Chaos comes to the Mortal Realms as the Darkoath bring an end to the Dawnbringer Crusades, one way or another. Also 40K MTO terrain!
Next week sees the end of the Dawnbringer storyline as the Twin-Tailed Crusades come to an end, with a major Chaos book and a bunch of Darkoath releases. Disaster looms for the Sigmarite forces. But perhaps some hero will lead the forces of Order against the forces of Chaos.
Either way, there’s a ton of cool Darkoath minis, as well as the individual release of Krethusa the Croneseer. In the grim darkness of the distant future, 40K gets a made to order release run of some classic terrain, including a void shield generator which is the perfect staging ground for an epic, end of Phantom Menace style duel between any characters you want.
Here’s what’s coming to pre-order next week!
All Chaos Most of the Time – Some Order Sneaks In
Dawnbringers Book VI brings the Dawnbringers saga and the Twin-Tailed Crusades to an end. In Hounds of Chaos, you’ll see how it all shakes out. But more importantly, you’ll get two new Armies of Renown: Abraxia, Spear of the Everchosen and her Swords of Chaos; as well as the Tribes of the Snow Peaks, who are all things Darkoath.
Accompanying the new book are all the new toys in Chaos’ toybox. Starting with Abraxia’s Varanspear, a Regiment of Renown that has Abraxia herself, as well as three Varanguard heavy cavalry.
Meanwhile, Brand’s Oathbound, a Regiment of Renown that features Gunnar Brand, as well as several Darkoath warriors with “unique skills”.
But there’s more Darkoath coming. Starting with the Darkoath Chieftain on Warsteed, in a beautiful multi-part plastic kit that can be built with axe or sword, for all your slicing or dicing needs.
The Darkoath Wilderfiend is a monstrous creature that will devour all flesh, wherever it may be found.
A new box of Darkoath Marauders illustrates some of Chaos’ brutality in the form of 10 miniatures with many different ways to kit them out, including shield options, axes and swords, as well as a Doombeater, Icon Bearer, and Darkoath Champion.
Bring some fast, light cavalry into the fray in the form of the Fellriders, who come in a box of five with customizable gear and mount accessories.
Channel the power of the Chaos gods through the new Nexus Chaotica terrain piece, which can boost spells and even corrupt objectives on the table.
But it’s not all Chaos. Krethusa the Croneseer is available individually here, sneaking in a little bit of Order.
And where there is Order and Chaos, Death often follows. This time in the form of Sekhar, Fang of Nulahmia, a Soulblight vampire who can dominate minds with her powerful magic.
40K Made to Order Terrain
Meanwhile, in the distant future, a run of made to order 40K terrain brings back several detailed kits. You can put together a Void Shield Generator which, as mentioned, is dramatic.
Get some Conservators to move all those crates and barrels around.
Or get yourself some Plasma Regulators for those arcing vibes.
And of course, who could say no to a classic ruined gothic building.
If you prefer more Mechanicus vibes, you’re in luck, as four pieces from Battlezone Mechanicus return for the made to order window, starting with the Ferratonic Furnace.
Snag a Pyrolation Incinerator for those sweet sweet gantries.
Or a set of Alchomite Stacks to spew fumes everywhere.
Or some Haemotrope Reactors to give you that close up cover.
All this, next week!
