The upcoming Asgardian Shrine Terrain from Marvel: Crisis Protocol has more One-Shot rules to change the game — it’s go time!

Atomic Mass Games is teasing one of the new optional rules for the Asgardian Terrain set. If you want to change your games these new sets are a fun way to add some extra flavor in the mix. What’s fun about this one is that it can impact both players if they want to meet in battle!

“While bringing the heroes of Asgard to the table, why not bring the might and beauty of the the Vanir to your Marvel: Crisis Protocol games? This set also includes optional rules for players to use with the terrain to keep things interesting.”

Just to reiterate, these One-Shot rules are optional to use. They modify the Threat Level of the crisis you’re playing. However, in this case, it’s zero of the modification. In this case, if you opt to use the One-Shot, then you’ll have to add an Asgardian Shrine, which is suitable for these Marvel gods, to the table if there isn’t one already. Then you (and your opponent) can benefit from the Blessings of Aesir. Essentially, when a character is in range and get a Block on an attack, defense, or dodge they also get an energy. Overall, this is just a nice little boost for some extra energy.

Personally, I think the terrain looks great. The bonus One-Shot rules are just that — a bonus. Not that I needed a ton of convincing to add one of these to my games or anything. Plus One-Shot rules are optional. Maybe you just want to have a cool Asgardian-themed table/battle without the One-Shot rule. That’s perfectly fine, too!

Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Asgardian Shrine Terrain Pack $79.99

While bringing the heroes of Asgard to the table, why not bring the might and beauty of Asgard itself to your Marvel: Crisis Protocol games. The Asgardian shrine is a beautiful piece of terrain featuring crumbling ruins atop a raised dais before a statue honoring a valkyrie—one of the legendary warriors of Asgard who keeps watch over those who shelter in her abode. This set also includes optional rules for players to use with the terrain to keep things interesting.

Contents:

  • Gazebo Platform
  • Valkyrie Statue
  • One-Shot card

The set is currently up for pre-order and has a release date slated for August 2, 2024.

I think this would be a great way to bring a little piece of Asgard to your games of MCP. There’s also the other set also up for pre-order, too.

I can’t wait to see what the community does with this set and the Asgardian Character Pack coming out later. I’m expecting some pretty awesome looking dioramas and battlescapes going on.
