If you can’t stop thinking about X-Men 97 and want more of it right now, these RPGs and games will keep you going until season 2.

X-Men 97 came in this past season and made all of us feel a lot of things… Including nostalgia. I don’t know what I expected from it, but it wasn’t for the show to be as good as it was, nor for it to overnight become the thing that makes us all look forward to more Marvel TV/Movie content.

Because honestly… the live-action stuff has been a little hit or miss as of late. So if you haven’t been able to stop thinking about X-Men 97 since the season one finale, if you can’t wait for season two, or if you just want to jump into some super heroing adventures of your own, these are some games and RPGs to check out.

1. The Tiger Electronics Handheld Game

Do you remember these things? They were deceptively difficult and the visual and sound graphics were just a little cheesy. But if you want a little more of that 90’s nostalgia that X-Men 97 threw us into, this is the game to pick up. How many road trips did these little handheld games get you through?

2. The X-Men Marvel Multiverse Expansion

Of course we have to talk about the Marvel Multiverse RPG. You can play as your favorite already existing hero, or make up your own to fight super villains and save the world. There are a ton of books, covering just about every hero and location you could want – including a corebook of course. We’re here for the X-Men right now. So this is the mutant specific expansion for Marvel Multiverse with dozens of mutants and X-Men locations like the Xavier Institute and Cerebro.

3. X-Men Munchkin

How many Munchkin decks do you have? It seems to be a rule that if there is an even slightly nerdy interest, there’s a Munchkin for it. Which means that almost all of us have at least a few of these on a bookshelf somewhere, even if we don’t play much Munchkin. But it’s also fun, a pretty simple card game, and great for younger players as well as older. So maybe it absolutely belongs on all of our shelves.

4. X-Men: Mutant Insurrection

Cooperative games have been gaining in popularity over competitive ones, and this is a perfect example. Build up the team of your favorite mutant and work with the other players at the table to take on some of the most infamous X-Men villains. This is one of those dice-and-cards strategy games, with story to advance and up to sixteen character to chose from. So it won’t get boring any time soon.

5. X-Men Dice Masters

Diced Masters is a card and dice game that let’s you build teams of powerful super characters and battle them against each other. And this set has an X-Men spin. Which means more than a dozen of our favorite mutants taking. Will you chose to fight against the brotherhood or hellfire club? Or maybe with them? It’s your dream team to build.
