A major new update for Total War: Warhammer 3 released tomottoe. Patch 5.1 adds Khorne’s bestest boy to the game, fixes bolt throwers, and more.

Total War: Warhammer 3, Patch 5.1 is here at last. And with it, many much needed tweaks, rebalancings, fixes, and more for the game. Of course, leading the charge is Karanak, the three-headed Hound of Khorne who can get thrice the pets and thrice the treats. But there’s more than just the new Legendary Hero added to the game in this patch.

Alongside this, a number of improvements to the game. Everyone will find something to love. From people out there playing multiplayer, who get a new game mode, to players who have always wanted to field an army of legendary soldiers led by Legendary Lords. Here’s a quick look at what to expect.

Total War: Warhammer 3 – Patch 5.1 Notes

First off, everyone’s favorite hound of Khorne, Karanak. The new Legendary Hero will be available for free. And you may well want him, ecause Karanak moves fast, hits hard, and is good at picking out soft targets from their presumed safety. Spellcasters especially, but artillery and missile units will also find themselves being chased down by the magic-eating menace.

Karanak gets a few key abilities, starting with Prey of the Blood God, which nets a Lord or Hero in place and damages the target; Karanak’s Howl, which lets him summon Flesh Hounds, Talon of the Skull Throne, which lets him do more damage when nearby units are routing, and Endless Hunter, which lets him reveal any unit within his radius.

But there’s more than just Karanak in the patch. A big, exciting new addition is Conquest Mode, which is a new multiplayer mode. It’s basically more like a tabletop game of Warhammer. While you can still kill everyone, after a minute, a capture point in the center of the map unlocks, allowing players to capture and hold it, collecting victory points so they can win.

This won’t replace the classic Land Battles mode, but it’s an exciting new addition, primarily intended for multiplayer.

Also you can now toggle Multiple Lords, allowing you to add more than one lord to your army. For a full list of all the changes, click the link below.
