Age of Sigmar: Order Faction Packs Up For Download
If your army is part of the Order Grand Alliance then now is your day to get your faction pack. It’s time for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar 4.0!
Can we consider today to be the first official day of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar 4.0? Sure, yesterday we got access to the core rules and points. But we technically couldn’t play yet because we didn’t have warscrolls for armies. Well today that all changes. The Faction Pack for all the armies of Order is out now and you can finally get your game on!
“You can download the Faction Packs for every Order army today, to compliment the rules and Battle Profiles from yesterday.”
Order Faction Pack Downloads Now Available
Editor’s Note: In order to keep this section neat and tidy below you’ll find the downloads for all the Order Faction Packs. There’s additional commentary and examples below this section.
Stormcast Eternals Faction Pack
Kharadron Overlords Faction Pack
Lumineth Realm-lords Faction Pack
Daughters of Khaine Faction Pack
Additionally, the Stormcast Eternals are getting a Battletome Supplement for all the “retiring” units that SCE players might have in their collection but will no longer be supported after this update.

The Faction Packs Explored
So what’s actually in a Faction Pack? Let’s take a look at the Stormcast Eternals as an example. First up, we have the army Battle Traits. We got the preview of these from the Faction Focus articles from GW.
For the vast majority of the armies I believe these are unchanged from the preview. Additionally, we also get a look at the Battle Formations. Now, for most armies they had at least one preview with more teased. In most cases the army in question likely has four formations. There are some outliers however that has less. The Stormcast Eternals has four to start:
To me, Battle Formations are really the “soul” of the army. They will give you a bonus for building/playing in a particular way. Just from reading them you can get a good sense of what the Battle Formation is trying to push the player toward. My recommendation is find one that suits your play style and run with it. You’ll have a much better time.
Next up we have the Heroic Traits and also Artefacts of Power. These are things that will allow you to further customize your army.
Obviously, these have unit restrictions and you have to add them to their respective options.
If the army uses Spells and/or Prayers we also get those sections, too.
And if your army had access to (formerly known as) Endless Spells, those are now Manifestations. Those can be found in their respective lore spot.
And then we get to the section that I’m sure we’ve all been waiting for: Warscrolls.
Again, for the sake of brevity I’m not going to put every single Stormcast Eternal Warscroll here — go download the Faction Pack from GW for that. But the rest of the pack are the “things” you need to actually play with those units. And if you don’t have any idea of what a Warscroll is then here’s a breakdown from GW:
After you chew through all the Warscrolls there’s one final section and that’s for Spearhead. The Stormcast Eternals are a bit of an outlier here because they actually have multiple Spearheads to use. Not only do they have the Spearhead from the new launch box, they also have their previous one, too.
This section has alternative special rules for the Spearhead only. Additionally, there are Warscrolls for the specific units included in their respective Spearhead. So if you’ve been itching to try out the new edition with Spearhead games, this section is made for you!
So that’s basically everything in the Faction Pack. Again, for the most part, each Faction Pack should look pretty similar to this format — but there may be some outliers. The good news is they are all free to download so feel free to dive on in to each one. That said, be sure to check out the points for your Faction so you can put together a legal list and have at it! Warhammer Age of Sigmar 4.0 is here!
