Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7 gives best boy Wyll some much-needed attention, while Astarion is a better kisser. Something for everyone!

There’s something appealing, something appalling, something for everyone in Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7. A new community update reveals that not only is the upcoming patch going to add modding tools, but it’s got something for every character, including and especially Wyll.

But, before the patch comes out in September (auspicious timing), the community has a chance to test things out with a Closed Beta. Here’s more info about the beta and a look at how your favorite character is getting tweaked.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 – Fixing Split Screen, Mod Tools, and More

First things first, the big news about joining the Closed Beta:

Are you interested in playtesting Patch 7? With all these bug fixes, updates to gameplay, and new features, we want to make sure we haven’t broken anything or introduced something that will make your computer explode. (We’re kidding, our legal representatives ensure.)

Head to the Baldur’s Gate 3 store page here on Steam and register now for your chance to take part in the Patch 7 Closed Beta which will go live next week on July 22nd!

Entry to the playtest will be given to randomly selected registered players, and if you’re selected, we’ll let you know more about what to look out for, including partial patch notes, and how you can report any issues you might come across!

Easy enough to register for. Just head to their Steam page, which is linked here and at the end of this article for good measure.

You’ll have a chance to playtest the new official modding tools and everything. But you’ll also get to see firsthand the new evil ending, as well as what new changes lie in wait for your favorite companion/party member.

  • Wyll
    • Easier Romance and is more romantic
    • Wyll is also more reactive in camp dialogues and has more opportunities to kiss during the epilogue
  • Astarion
    • Better at kissing, and now more characters react to Astarion and his plight
  • Lae’zel
    • Lae’zel waits longer for you and has better animation at camp
  • Karlach
    • Karlach responds more to Dammon being dead as well as having a cleaner ending in Avernus
  • Gale
    • It’ll now be easier to feed him magic items
  • Shadowheart
    • Spear of the Night issues fixed, and god’s favorite princess is better at kissing

Of course, there are other changes. Party banter has been given a pass. A lot of multiplayer issues are being sorted out, including a promising dynamic split-screen mode for those of you doing couch co-op. If your party is close enough, your split screens merge, which is very cool.
