Corvus Belli’s Infinity universe is making the leap from the tabletop to television with a new animated series by director Jay Oliva.

If you ever looked at Corvus Belli’s Infinity and thought, “man, this sci-fi setting would be an awesome movie/TV show” then you’re in luck. You’re going to want to check out the new trailer and be ready for some blood…

The show is going to happen now thanks to acclaimed direct Jay Oliva. What’s great is that he’s not just a big name in the animation world — he’s also a fan and a player of Infinity!

“I played – and loved – the game, so I reached out to the Corvus Belli team, introduced myself, and then flew to Spain to make my pitch,” Oliva explains. “We developed the series over a week in Spain and, though Covid held us up for a beat, the animated Infinity was born.

While we don’t have ton of info on the series just yet, the trailer is enough to get a feel for what you can expect. And it certainly seems like the team behind the animation knows it’s influences.

Oliva: “Most table top games are either big armies or smaller models, but Infinity is more like a skirmish game with tons of terrain, like you’re playing on a little diorama – and that visual side really drew me to the game and inspired the animation. There’s a cyberpunk aspect, but also a very Ghost in the Shell feel with holograms and futuristic weaponry. The influences include Dune and some classic sci-fi of the past. It all translated very easily to animation.”

If you’re not familiar with Jay Oliva’s name you might be familiar with his work. He’s directed nine different animated Warner Bros. hit films including the two-part Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.  It’s great to see a veteran director attached to this one and it’s a good sign that he’s also a fan of the game, too. This could be a big win for Corvus Belli and Infinity in general. If nothing else it’s going to expose the name and Infinity brand to a whole new audience.

The next big reveal will be at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 27th at 10am in Room 6A. The panel is called “Corvus Belli’s Infinity Comes to Animation” and features quite the cast of panelist:

Gutier Lusquiños, Infinity creator and producer, Jay Oliva (Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Zack Snyder’s Twilight of the Gods), actors Zehra Fazal (Young Justice, Halo Infinite, Starfield) and Jason Spisak (Arcane, Batman: Hush), composer Frederik Weidmann (Star Trek: Picard, The Death of Superman), casting/voice director Wes Gleason (Batman: The Killing Joke) and creative consultant Matt Motschenbacher (Deadpool, The Boys). Publicist Gary Miereanu will moderate the festivities.

Additionally, if you manage to get to attend the panel, you’ll also get an exclusive Infinity miniature of Kassad, one of the key characters in the series:
