Hardcover’s back on the menu at Massif, who have just issued a second print run of the award-winning sci-fi RPG Lancer.

Lancer is an RPG that is, in many ways, about going to Build-a-Bear, but instead of the perfect, stuffed friend of your dreams, you’re making a giant killing machine, possibly one that breaks the laws of physics for fun.

In Lancer, you customize your own mech from the ground up, pulling from an assortment of components and frames to build just the perfect monstrosity, whether that’s a mech all about hacking into enemy systems with elite computer skills and using them to overheat or taking control of the enemy. Or just hacking through enemy systems with a big sword.

You might even use some nightmare technology. Unleash effects without a cause. Tell gravity or time that they can take the day off. It’s really fun, is what I’m saying. And you can find out for yourself because MASSIF has announced a second print run of the hardcover core rulebook.

Lancer 2nd Printing – Now with New Cover Art

Per Massif’s announcement:

MASSIF, in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics, has issued a second print run of LANCER. These books, with the classic cover, are available now at your local comic shop, book store, and the following online retailers: Penguin Random House, Amazon, Amazon UK.

Or, you can purchase the Core Book from [MASSIF] for a version with new MASSIF-exclusive cover artwork.

And in case you’re wondering, the new cover art by Peyton Gee is absolutely gorgeous, as pictured above.

I mean, that just tells you everything about the game already. But since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few extra words just to catch you up to speed. In this book, you’ll get everything you need to play Lancer. Setting info. All the rules. GM info, enemies. There have been a few expansions, but if you’re already playing Lancer, you know about them already. And if you don’t, you can find them on Massif’s website as well.

This is the perfect excuse to pick up the core rulebook. It will look amazing on a shelf. But especially if you have some more D&D 4E-inclined friends, Lancer’s crunchy combat satisfies like you wouldn’t believe. It’s simply delicious.
