Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Five Hulk Personas We Need

The Hulk’s got a lot of personas bouncing around in his head and they need to come to Marvel: Crisis Protocol!

When it come to complexity you’d think a character best known for saying “Hulk Smash!” would be pretty low. But that’s far from the truth. The Hulk has had a lot of different personalities come out over the years. That’s one of the reasons he’s such a fan favorite character. We’ve already got Hulk and Immortal Hulk in the game. But here’s a few more versions of him I’d love to see.

 Green Scar Hulk

This Hulk Persona is from the Planet Hulk saga. Sometimes called Gladiator Hulk, but not to be confused with World Breaker Hulk (we’ll get to that). Green Scar was born on the planet Sakaar. Captured and forced to fight as a gladiator in the games on Sakaar, Hulk developed this persona to basically protect himself and stay alive. It’s never been confirmed but it’s believed that this version has the intelligence of Bruce Banner, Grey Hulk’s cunning, and the Savage Hulk’s strength. That’s what makes him so scary.

World Breaker Hulk

So after the Planet Hulk Saga, the space ship that sent Hulk to Sakaar detonated, and killed Hulk’s wife Caiera who was pregnant with his child at the time. Obviously this makes Green Scar Hulk a little angry. This lead to the World War Hulk storyline and arguably one of (if not the) most powerful forms of the Hulk with World Breaker Hulk. Greg Pak (the writer of the series) was even quoted as saying “Hulk was stronger than any mortal—and most immortals—who ever walked the Earth.”

Just for the record, if that’s true, I think World Breaker Hulk should probably be an absurd Threat Level or even an Ultimate Encounter. He’s ridiculous.

Joe Fixit

I’ve talked about Joe Fixit before but I still wanted to bring him up. I get a kick out of the idea of the Hulk playing a Gangster Enforcer. I feel like he’s rock that pinstripe suit and a tommy gun — both mostly for style points. Technically, he’d probably be a weaker version of the standard Hulk but I think he’d make up for it with street smarts and style.

Hammer Hulk / Nul

“Hey, what if we gave the hulk an enchanted hammer, kinda like Thor, but one that possessed him with a different god’s power? And then he went on a rampage!” I’m pretty sure that was the pitch for this one. Hammer Hulk aka Nul, Breaker of Worlds is from the Fear Itself storyline. Without getting too much into the details this event revolved around seven character being dubbed “Worth” and getting these magical hammers. This also led to the awesome Unstoppable Colossus…but that’s a whole other thing.

This version of Hulk is juiced. If nothing else this would make for a crazy miniature. And before you think this is a really long shot, I’d just like to remind everyone that Dracula is coming to MCP. What does that have to do with Hammer Hulk you ask?

I’m just sayin… Because COMICS!

Zombie Hulk

Okay, full disclosure, I was going to put Maestro Hulk on this list, but I’ve mentioned him before and it came down to a personal preference of who I’d like to see more: Maestro or Joe Fixit. I went with Joe. So, I opted for the fifth slot to be the truly terrifying Zombie Hulk.

If you’re not familiar there was a bit of a zombie crazy in the 2000’s. Marvel decided to cash in and created the Marvel Zombies books. I won’t get into all that but it’s exactly what it sounds like. I always felt like these were meant as good ole Zombie fun. But then there was some dimension hopping and…you know what, I’m just gonna stop myself there. Let’s talk about Zombie Hulk.

“What if Hulk was a Zombie?” And what would that even be like for his Banner-half? That’s pretty much how this works. But instead of getting angry, the transformation happens when Banner gets Hungry. And, ya know, zombies seem to have quite the appetite. So you can imagine how this one goes down.

On another aside, I think an MCP set that was Marvel Zombies would be kind of nuts. There’s some implications with the Marvel Zombies version of the zombie virus. That part of it could make the rules needlessly complicated so maybe just stick to keeping this one light hearted.
