Marvel: Crisis Protocol Ministravaganza 2024 – Road Map Reveals
Atomic Mass Games is back with day three of the Ministravaganza and it’s time to tackle the Marvel: Crisis Protocol Road Map!
The third day of AMG’s Ministravaganza kicked off with the Marvel: Crisis Protocol reveals for the Road Map and I’m super pumped. There’s a ton of awesome stuff coming to the game. I’m also very pleased with the characters that were previewed. I’m not saying they are reading my articles about Marvel Characters that should be in the game or anything. However, there’s more than a couple that I had wish-listed that are now going to be new characters coming soon. Clearly I’m on board with their MCP direction and I want more of it.
That said, let’s check out the reveals!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol Road Map
This is a non-exhaustive release schedule for their Road Map. Partly because things happen. But more because AMG might have a few more surprises in store, too. I’m looking forward to all of it!
Painted Character Cards and Reveals
This section showcases the previously revealed miniatures with their paint jobs and also their rules. I’m so excited to see all this to chew on.
Maverick & Weapon X
This release is coming very soon and I’m not going to lie about how excited I am. Weapon X is going to be in a lot of my Rosters. He’s a Threat Level 3 character (and so is Maverick for that matter) that will get a lot of work done.
Sunspot & Warlock
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t quite as excited for the New Mutants to get an Affiliation. But holy cow, these two look like a lot of fun.
Angel
AMG already showed off Archangel in the Apocalypse reveals from earlier. This version is a little less punchy and more of a movement support. I’m okay with that!
Monsters Unleashed
Werewolf By Night is a complete beast and I think this Affiliation is going to be a lot of fun. On top of that, I think this might be the coolest set overall in terms of Display Case goodness.
Dracula is also a heavy hitter and you better bring a Moon Knight in your lists if you anticipate facing off against him.
Tomb of Dracula Terrain Pack
The upcoming Tomb of Dracula Terrain Pack looks awesome. Not only will it have two more One-Shot cards but it also makes the ideal place to store your Monsters Unleashed as a display.
Abomination & Wrecking Crew
This was a complete surprise! First off, I’d been rooting for Abomination to show up and now we’re also getting all four members of the Wrecking Crew, too!? I kinda wish they were separate characters but really them all being on one base makes sense. I’m okay with this plan. Also, Immortal Hulk vs Abomination will look amazing together.
Mephisto Miniature and Team Tactic Cards
AMG also showed off another look at Mephisto and his tactic cards. He’s going to a devilishly good time to field.
Painted Miniature Reveals
Elsa Bloodstone & Man-Thing
I am very curious about Man-Thing’s rules in MCP. Elsa is neat, too but I’ve had a soft spot for Man-Thing as since I was a kid. The sculpt looks great!
Nova & Yondu
Speaking of soft spots, I’m also a big Nova fan. Ever since the Annihilation story arc and the aftermath, Richard Rider won me over. This sculpt is technically a combination of his old suit and the Nova Prime version. I’m okay with it. This is another character that I’m just going to include in my Rosters just because. Also, Yondu with his bow and arrow is coming! Super pumped about both.
Inhuman Royal Court
I’m glad to see the Inhumans get a new pack with some new characters and a new version for Black Bolt. That said, I’m not a huge Inhumans fan but a lot of that is because Black Bolt sucks.
But seriously it’s also because of the push that the MCU tried to do with them and how it influenced the comic storylines…I’m not going to get into it here. But basically it’s like when Wrestling tries to have a character go from a Babyface to a Heel or when the higher-up try to push an uncharismatic wrestler to the top. The fans know what’s going on and sometimes it works. Sometimes it falls flat. That’s my /rant about the Inhumans.
War of Kings Character and Crisis Card Pack
Okay this has me hyped for a few reasons. War of Kings was a really fun run first off. Secondly, we’re getting Gladiator! That’s just cool. Third, this is both a Character Pack and a Crisis Card pack that will have a ton of new missions to play. I’m looking forward to all of this one for sure. It also opens up the possibility for even more packs like this in the future and I’m okay with that plan.
Unpainted Miniature Reveals
This section is teasers for the miniatures that are either bare plastic or just preview sculpts.
Avalanche, Exodus & Lady Mastermind
Ever since we got Pyro and Blob, I’ve been calling for the third member of their crew to show up. Here comes Avalanche! We’re also getting Exodus and Lady Mastermind, too. This gonna be a good pack to score — and there’s three characters in it, too!
Echo, Tigra & Ronin
So apparently Ronin will have a few different heads to play around with. That could be a fun guessing game of who they actually are. We are also getting Echo and Tigra in the mix, too. I believe these are going to be additions to the Defenders Affiliation which is a good thing.
Spider-Verse Character Pack
There’s more Spider-Verse characters coming but this is Spider-Man 2099’s reveal! You can bet even more Spider-friends are coming. But now I need to go watch the Spider-verse movies and figure out which spidey’s I want. Or maybe a Prowler or two…
Phoenix & Phoenix Unleashed Character Pack
This is a dual character pack and it’s the X-Men’s Threat Level 6 character in the form of Jean Grey as the Phoenix. Apparently, she will be able to transform into the “Unleashed” version (willingly or unwillingly) so that could be pretty wild! I’m very excited about this sculpt because I was really hoping to see AMG tackle this “flame wing” version of Phoenix. I think they nailed it!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol Art Pieces
This section is mostly here because AMG showed off some amazing art and I wanted to include it somewhere. There could also be (more than) a few teasers about who else could be coming to the game. Pay close attention to the edges is all I’m saying.
