‘Starfinder’ Playtest Scenarios Unveiled, Levels 1-15 Await

As Paizo gears up for the big launch of the Starfinder 2E Playtest, we get a look at the coming playtest scenarios. Surprisingly high leveled!

Starfinder 2E’s big playtest launches in a little over a week. And ahead of that, Paizo has unveiled their upcoming laytest adventures. You’ll get to try these out if you happen to be maing your way up to Gen Con this year. Or, if you have friends at home who are excited about the new edition of Paizo’s sci-fi RPG.

And these aren’t just any playtest scenarios. You’ll get to test the game out at every tier of play. From the low ends, where you’re just a humble level 1 Starfinder making your way downtown, walkin’ fast, faces pass as you’re homebound. Or at levels 5, 10, and 15. All of these are designed to be short, single-session adventures meant to be played through in 2-3 hours.

Here’s a look at things to come.

Starfinder Reveals Playtest Scenarios at Every Level

Starting with Shards of the Glass Planet, one of two playtest scenarios that will be available day one of the Starfinder Playtest. This adventure for 1st-level characters is all about first contact.

In the wake of the Drift Crisis, the impenetrable energy field surrounding the planet Birnam’s Bubble is shattering, and shards of this solidified energy have begun to fall through the atmosphere to the planet’s surface, causing significant destruction. Enter the breach and uncover the secrets of the lost civilizations of Birnam’s Bubble before they’re lost forever!

Meanwhile the second of the two playtest launch adventures, It Came from the Vast! is a horror-focused adventure for characters who have hit level 5. This has your Starfinders investigating a derelict, and possibly haunted vessel.

When the Xenowarden biomechanical starship Bloom is discovered careening uncontrolled through space, it’s up to a team of rave spacefarers to enter the starship and uncover thef ate of its missing crew! The Bloom is haunted. That’s the least of your problems.

The 3rd Starfinder Playtest Scenario, Wheel of Monsters won’t be available until September. But, seeing as how it’s for 10th level characters, this gives you time to get up to snuff. And you’ll want to be if you hope to survive the deadly game show at the heart of this adventure.

Step right up, come on down, and ready your laser pistols… You’re the next contestant’s on Zo!’s Wheel of Monsters, a thrilling game show that pits contestants in lethal combat against dangerous creatures collected from across the galaxy. Don’t worry, contestants, there’s a big prize if you make it out alive!

And the fourth Starfinder Playtest Scenario, Rescue at Shimmerstone Mine won’t be out until October. But by then, you’ll both know the game and possibly have seen it undergo some significant updates. Either way, the adventure is all about a world in crisis.

Meanwhile, in the Veskarium, inexplicable disasters and sudden riots are breaking out in shimmerstone mines all across the frigid planet of Vesk-8. While many corporations react with attempts to sweep these events under the metaphorical rug, Shim-Tek desperately seeks outside agents to visit their shimmerstone mine, investigate the disturbance, and rescue any imperiled miners still on site.
