Warhammer 40K: ‘Space Marine 2’ – The Space Marine Arsenal Teaser
There’s a new teaser trailer out for Space Marine 2 showcasing the weapons in the Space Marine arsenal! Time to make Tyranid bug paste.
The launch date of Space Marine 2 is drawing ever closer. Today, we’re getting a quick look at a few of the weapons of war you’ll be able to wield against the Tyranid threat. Lock and load, Marines…it’s about to get messy!
The Space Marine Arsenal
Now, we’ve gotten a look at few of these weapons before. Here’s what is shown off in this trailer.
Heavy Bolter
There’s a reason this is an iconic weapon. The Heavy Bolter is going to do work in this game for sure. Especially against all those ranging hordes coming to play. I wonder if we’re going to get different firing modes for when we’re standing still or have a steady firing position vs on the move.
Astartes Chainsword
It wouldn’t be much of a Space Marine game if we didn’t have our trusty Astartes Chainsword with us, right? This trusty weapon is going to be used quite frequently when things get up close and personal. There’s no way it’s going to stay that clean through the campaign of Space Marine 2.
Plasma Incinerator
Plasma weapons are back and we’ve got the new(er) Plasma Incinerator to play with. There was a tool-tip in the trailer saying this weapon could be charged — and you can be that’s going to bring an even bigger boom! Just try not to cook yourself with it, okay?
Various Bolter Variants
We saw an Auto Bolt Rifle, used and it certainly looks like there’s going to Bolter variants aplenty in this game. We’ve also seen the Sniper version, and the “standard” Bolt Rifle. It also looks like we’re getting the Bolt Carbine from the Reivers here, too. Oh, and I suppose we can toss in the Heavy Bolt Pistol from the cover art, too.
I’m pretty sure we’ve seen a Stormbolter in the mix at some point. Ultimately, you can bet that most (if not all) the Space Marine Bolter-weapons are going to show up in this game.
Melta Rifle
Here we get a look at Titus firing off a Melta Rifle. In the first Space Marine this weapon was treated a lot like a shotgun-style weapon. From the looks of the cone that comes out of this weapon, I’m guessing that it’s a safe bet that’s how it works again. Get up close and cook.
Other Weapons
Jump Pack
Slamming down from the air when you have a Jump Pack equipped is going to do a AoE hit. Not only does it look like you can squish bugs, but this likely also causes some type of stun to unfortunate targets nearby.
Improvised Weapons
Enemies will be used as weapons against themselves — or at least parts of them. And yes, this is one of the MANY executions, but Titus is technically using a scything talon to impale the Tyranid Warrior as a finisher.
There have also been a few other trailers/teasers that have showcased other weapons like Power Swords, Thunder Hammers, and more. And we haven’t even talked about the class system or multiplayer customization options. The point is there’s a LOT of weapons and it’s going to be fun using them against the enemies of the Emperor in Space Marine 2!
Space Marine 2’s launch date is September 9, 2024. I can’t wait to get ahold of this one!
Do you have a weapon you’re looking forward to busting out in Space Marine 2?
