In a shock to no one the Skaven have officially been announced as the winners of the Battle for Helcrown. Let’s see those new miniatures!

If you’ve been following the story so far then you know that the Skaven have invaded in big way. By end it was pretty clear that the Skaven had won and the supporting Chaos forces had held, too. But now we’ve got the official results and the Skaven have indeed scored a major victory. This victory wasn’t just a hollow one either. The winner is getting their new miniatures previewed first. It’s time to check out the new Skaven!

New Skaven Reveals

Acolyte Globadiers are a refresh of an old unit. They are back with new minis are ready to toss out those stink clouds once again. The forecast is calling for noxious warp-storms coming from these guys!

The Warp-Grinder gets a new miniature and what’s really scary is that this one will be able to not only tunnel up to an enemy, it’s going to be able to bring a unit with it! That’s bad enough. But what’s really scary is that it will be able to basically arrive in combat range! That’s going to be a problem…

Doom Flayers are another classic Skaven unit that’s back. It’s gotten a glow-up and this new kit looks really cool. It’s a got a warpstone core and I expect the painting fans out there are going to have a lot of fun with this kit.

You didn’t think the Skaven’s firepower was going away, did you? Because all those crazy guns are back in a new Warpspark Battery. Get ready for a hail of warpstone and warplightning to rain down.

The Skaven Stormvermin are also getting a new kit on the way. Resculpted and ready for battle they are rocking some fancy (for a Skaven) armor and weapons.

GW also showed off a few different characters joining the ranks. There’s a pair of new Warlocks coming with the Warlock Galvaneer and the Arch Warlock!

They have some new weapons and abilities that are going to shock the enemy. You might not want to group-up too much around the Galvaneer in particular…

The Brood Terror is a gnarly looking abomination coming from the Skaven. It’s mix of parts from Skaven, technology, and warpstone mutations that’s going to be a terror on the tabletop.

In a way it’s fitting that it’s the Master Moulder’s fault for that, too. I would not want to be capture by this guy as their experiments are known for their ghastly results.

The Avatar of the Horned rat is HERE! Meet Vizzik Skour. This new model in amazing and boasts a bunch of cool details. I really want to see the rules on this guy.

Krittok Foulblade is more of a wheeler-and-dealer type of Skaven leader. He’s got a blade with the soul of a trapped Verminlord inside. I hope he can keep it undercontrol for his sake…

Well, that’s all for the Skaven reveals. It’s an impressive set of upgrades for sure. Does it make up for the units that got cut? Let’s see…

It’s not quite 1:1 replacements yet…but it’s really not that far off at this point.

During the preview show there was one final teaser. Really it was just an image and a “look to the skies” tag line.

Something is coming on August 16, 2024…guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
