AoS: Kruleboyz are Ded Kunnin’ in 4.0
GW has released the latest Faction packs for Age of Sigmar 4.0. We’ve got the lowdown on the biggest changes for the sneaky swamprats, the Kruleboyz.
Welcome in, Generals of the Realms! Skaventide is out, the battle lines have been drawn, and we are firmly in the 4.0 season. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been chomping at the bit to see how your favorite faction fared in the update. Some are amazing, some are terrible, and most are a little bit of both. Whatever faction you play, there’s definitely been a massive shakeup in how you’re going to play.
Unlike their more…robust cousins, the Ironjawz, the Kruleboyz have always preferred their warfare a little more sneaky. Using very un-Orruk tactics like strategy, ambush, and *gasp* RANGED COMBAT, the swampy gitz can outmaneuver any foes that trespass in their bogs. They’ve even been known to turn the very beasts of the fens against their enemies.
The Kruleboyz moved to the forefront of the Orruk Warclans in the last edition, and they’re still solidly seated there. As Kragnos’s favored children, they are the primary face of the AoS Orruks. They’re the only ones with a Spearhead and the first in the book. However, I do think they fall a little short of the the Ironjawz.
Kruleboyz The Good: Bein’ Kunnin’
Kruleboyz are the leanest of the Orruks, so they can’t rely on power to overwhelm their enemies. Instead, they need to cheat a little. Kruleboyz have access to some “Dirty Tricks”, allowing them to get the edge on the enemy. They can poison their weapons, sneak closer (or further away), or slow down the enemy.
The Gutrippaz are the perfect target for your beneficial Dirty Tricks. They can already hinder their enemies with their Scare Taktikz, so adding some Poison or a little Sneaky Sneaking is perfect. This is your backbone unit for a reason: use them to great effect.
Kruleboyz The Bad: Fragile
Unlike the Ironjawz, the Kruleboyz don’t have much access to pigiron. They can’t really weather the attacks of the enemies, and you’ll need to think to keep them around. They certainly aren’t the only army that’s a little low on the armor card, but with Stormcast and Ironjawz running around, an army this squishy needs to be played with utmost care
