Kobold Press’ Tales from the Shadows is an adventure anthology set in the Realm of Shadow, making it the perfect companion for the Book of Ebon Tides.

Kobold Press has another big book land on D&D Beyond this week. Earlier this month, we saw the release of the 5E Book of Ebon Tides, a campaign-setting book that explores the Realm of Shadow, a dark fey plane home to all sorts of shadowy creatures. Undead. Evil Fey. All that kind of thing.

Now, Kobold brings their companion piece, Tales from the Shadows, to D&D Beyond. So not only can you pick up a big splatbook all about the Realm of Shadow, complete with new subclasses, spells, and feats, you can also grab an adventure anthology designed to let you play with all those new toys.

Tales from the Shadow collects more than a dozen adventures together. Each will venture through the facets of the Realm of Shadow. So, let’s take a look!

Tales from the Shadows – Live Now on D&D Beyond

Say what you will, but D&D Beyond continues to be a digital hub for WotC. And the more 3rd Party Publishers on it, the more widespread D&D content becomes available to all. The Edition changeover is going to be interesting. But if the edition wars have taught me anything, it’s that there’s no stopping people from playing what they want to play.

Adventures and monsters are going to be much more backward compatible than, say, player character subclasses or the like.

Tales from the Shadows is a collection of adventures set for characters levels 1-8. And it is as creative and faerie tale-like as the Realm of Shadows is. Haunted villages where the livestock just “ain’t right,” a lost child’s fear-ridden imagination, and, of course, a whole lot of D&D Beyond accouterments, including 31 full-color maps, dozens of illustrations you can drop as “player handouts” into D&D Beyond Maps. A bunch of new monsters, magic items, and more are ready to just drop in and play.

You can even string every adventure in this anthology together as a campaign. Or just have a bunch of one-shots ready to go.

Either way, if you’re looking for dark and spooky adventures, Tales from the Shadow has your back.
