FFG: ‘Gen Con 2024 In-Flight Report’ New Product Teasers
Fantasy Flight Games held their Gen Con In-Flight report and announced some new products coming to their LCG lines.
It’s that magical time of the year when the industry heads out to Gen Con and showcases a ton of new and exciting stuff coming to fans. Fantasy Flight Games also gets on the stage and holds their In-Flight Report where they talk about the past year and also showcase some new products coming. Luckily for those of us who couldn’t attend, it’s been streamed and saved!
Marvel: Champions
To kick things off, we’ve got two new Hero Packs coming to Marvel: Champions. Nightcrawler and Magento are on deck and should be on the way soon. But the other big teaser was for the next big expansion: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
This opens up some new possibilities for the game with new allies and options. It’s also a shift away from the X-Men theme they’ve had going for a bit. We’ll have to wait and see how this one develops.
Arkham Horror: The Card Game
Arkham Horror: The Card Game got their next big expansion teased, too. And this one is BIG.
Cthulhu is coming to Arkham Horror and the city will “never be the same again.” I’m VERY curious for what this means for the in-game universe. And it was mentioned that a long time ago if Cthulhu ever came to Arkham Horror: The Card Game it meant the “end” of the game. But that’s not true as stated by FFG’s presenter VP of Strategy Jim Cartwright. So I’m holding him to that because I want MORE Arkham Horror: TCG in the future.
Twilight Imperium
So there’s actually not a ton of reveals here. Except, it was heavily hinted that a new box is on the way — probably an expansion. Cartwright made some motions with his hands that indicated a rather large box… Additionally, we got this image of a planet. Now, I’m not 100% up on my TI lore but I think this planet might be a big deal. And probably a key part of any expansions for it. If you know which planet this is please let us know in the comments!
Star Wars: The Deckbuilder Game
Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game is getting a Clone Wars Edition. This will be a new product that is a stand-alone edition. Meaning you can just pick-up this box and dive in. Additionally, you CAN mix and match with the previous releases and go to town. There’s new multiplayer rules with this launch as well.
Star Wars: Unlimited
On November 8, 2024 the new set Twilight of the Republic will launch. There were a ton of teaser cards in the video, if you want to see it, you can skip to around the 19:00 mark.
Additionally, the next three set titles have been revealed as well with the Star Wars: Unlimited Road Map:
So get excited Star Wars: Unlimited fans! You’re getting loads of support next year, too.
There was also a big chunk of the presentation dedicated to Gamegenic Products. Not to discount those by any means (I’m actually a big fan of their stuff). However, I wanted to focus on the new game products coming and not the accessories and (really) “nice to haves” extras. Seriously, those deck boxes are *chef’s kiss* good.
I’m excited for more Arkham Horror and can’t wait to see what else FFG has in store!
