Games Workshop Pre-Orders: Mechanicum Battle Group Arrives In Horus Heresy
The Mechanicum have a brand new Battle Group box up for pre-order this weekend. Plus more Legions Imperialis goodies roll in!
I hope you’re ready for some more Robot goodness because the Mechanicum are here! And it’s not just them marching to war either. We also have new stuff for Legions Imperialis for the Solar Auxilia and Marines. It’s tanks for all! That’s fitting because the Devastaion of Tallarn book is out, too. This is a good week for tread-heads for sure. Personally, I’m liking the look of the new plastics for the Mechanicum box. I wrote that up early and those models are great. If you want to start a Horus Heresy Mechanicum army now is the time.

Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis – The Devastation of Tallarn (Hardback) $52
The war which unfolded upon Tallarn in the middle years of the Horus Heresy was on a scale almost impossible to assess, a year-long conflict of ceaseless battle across a thousand fronts, where entire Titan Legios were broken and Imperialis Auxilia regiments rendered extinct.
Contained within this 128-page hardback book you will find a comprehensive history of the Devastation of Tallarn and the Fall of Sapphire City, key events in the vast and nightmarish Tallarn campaign. As well as detailing the Loyalist and Traitor forces which took part in these engagements, this book features new Formations and Detachment Data Sheets for both the Legiones Astartes and Solar Auxilia Army Lists.
This supplement book presents a full campaign system for linking Legions Imperialis battles together, including Breakthrough Campaign rules where you can take the fight right to your opponents’ strongholds, and an expansion to this system allowing players to fight the battles for the Northern Desolation. The book contains rules for fighting Legions Imperialis battles in the dense toxic fogs which shrouded the battlefields of Tallarn, allowing you to bring this wartorn planet’s intense and choking environments to life on the tabletop. You’ll also find rules for Spearhead games featuring unique missions for massive armoured columns – ideal for representing the unusual conditions on Tallarn.
In order to use the content of this book, you will require a copy of the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis Rulebook, available separately.
Legions Imperialis: Sicaran Arcus and Punisher Squadron $52
The Sicaran is a fast-moving destroyer tank, designed to outflank enemy formations before unleashing overwhelming mid-range firepower. Its versatile chassis supports a variety of weapons, allowing the Legiones Astartes to field specialised variants – such as the Sicaran Arcus, which uses a barrage of missiles to take down tanks and fast-moving aerial support, while the Sicaran Punisher lays out withering fusillades that shred hordes of infantry.
This multipart plastic kit builds four epic scale Legions Astartes Sicaran strike tanks for games of Legions Imperialis, each of which can be assembled in either the Arcus or Punisher configuration. The Arcus sports a missile launcher array mounted on its turret, while the Punisher boasts a massive rotary cannon. Each tank also has a pair of sponson-mounted guns on its sides – you can choose between heavy bolters or lascannons – and you’ll find a variety of options for the cupola atop the Punisher variant’s hull, with a choice of a spotter, a gunner, or a closed hatch.
This kit contains 120 plastic components, and 1x Legions Imperialis Legiones Astartes Vehicle Transfer Sheet, containing 1118 waterslide transfers. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
Rules for using the Sicaran Arcus and Sicaran Punisher in your games of Legions Imperialis can be found in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis: The Devastation of Tallarn, available separately.
Legions Imperialis: Leman Russ Executioner and Demolisher Squadron $52
Leman Russ battle tanks are incredibly versatile armoured assets, equipped with a variety of powerful cannons to tackle any obstacle that dares to test the might of the Solar Auxilia. Executioners unleash gouts of lethal plasma to eliminate heavy assets, while Demolishers lob fat shells to pummel fortifications and massed infantry alike.
This multipart plastic kit builds eight epic scale Solar Auxilia Leman Russ tanks for games of Legions Imperialis, each of which can be assembled in either the Executioner or Demolisher configuration. The Executioner’s plasma cannon is a versatile weapon that can threaten numerous targets, while the Demolisher’s explosive cannon shatters walls and shakes out dug-in foes. Each tank can be further customised with a choice of hull-mounted gun – either a heavy bolter or lascannon – and you’ll find different options for crew or closed hatches atop the cupola on the turret, to give your massed tanks extra variety.
This kit comprises 132 plastic components, and comes with 1x Legions Imperialis Solar Auxilia Vehicle Transfer Sheet, containing 288 waterslide transfers. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.
Rules for using Leman Russ Executioners and Demolishers in your games of Legions Imperialis can be found in Legions Imperialis: The Devastation of Tallarn, available separately.
Legions Imperialis: Shadowswords, Stormblades and Stormswords $52
The Shadowsword is the sister tank to the Baneblade, a super-heavy vehicle employed by Solar Auxilia cohorts to engage and destroy enemy macro-engines with its volcano cannon. The same chassis has also been adapted to mount different primary weapons suited to their own modes of destruction, like the bunker-busting Stormsword siege cannon or the versatile plasma blastgun of the Stormblade.
This multipart plastic kit builds two epic scale Solar Auxilia super-heavy tanks, each of which can be assembled in the Shadowsword, Stormblade, or Stormsword configurations. Each of these massive vehicles bristles with firepower, from the Titan-slaying volcano cannon, the fortress-shattering siege cannon, or the devastating short-ranged firepower of the plasma blastgun. Each variant also sports hull-mounted twin heavy bolters, and a pair of sponsons with twin heavy bolters and lascannon turrets. You’ll find a variety of options for the cupola atop each hull, which can be assembled with a closed hatch, or a selection of gunners, spotters, or commanders.
The set includes:
– 2x Solar Auxilia super-heavy tanks, each with the following weapon options:
– 1x turret-mounted plasma blastgun
