Pathfinder’s ‘Howl of the Wild’ Gets Pocket Edition Softcover
Paizo wants you to let out your inner furry with a pocket edition of their new Howl of the Wild splatbook. 224 pages of natural goodness.
Now you can settle the old nature vs. nurture debate and come down squarely on the side of nature, all without taking up too much extra room on your overcrowded shelves, all thanks to Pathfinder’s Howl of the Wild Pocket Edition. If you’re unfamiliar with Pocket Editions, these are smaller softcover versions of Pathfinder books. They have all the same content, but they’re smaller both in size and price, making them more portable.
Howl of the Wild Pocket Edition
Howl of the Wild Pocket Edition is a pint-sized version of the nature-themed splatbook. It has the same new ancestries and archetypes and player options. You already know what’s in store if you grabbed the full-sized version. But if not, here’s a taste.
You’ve got normal fantasy things like Centaurs and Minotaurs. That one’s easy. But did you know you can also play as an Awakened Animal? That’s right. Now you can play Sir Bearington without actually having to stretch the rules. You can just do it. And that’s just the tip of the anthropomorphic animal iceberg. Here’s what else you can expect:
“Six playable new ancestries to bring PCs’ wildest characters to life: strong minotaurs, swift centaurs, magical merfolk, amphibious athamarus, animals awakened to consciousness, and insectile, metamorphic surkis!
Archetypes, spells, and other player options inspired by nature, from additional options for shapeshifting druids to playable werecreatures to archetypes that let you fight with claw, tail, or wing.
New animal companions, weapons and armor forged from the scales and fangs of magical beasts, and all the gear you need out in the field!
A menagerie of Golarion’s animals and beasts for GMs to unleash on players, covering animals like dinosaurs and sharks, expansions on classic monsters like chimeras and griffons, and never-before-seen creatures like the transparent sky fisher, the potion-brewing apothecary bee, and the extradimensional rift chameleon.”
– Howl of the Wild
All this awaits in Howl of the Wild. So whether you want to add a new archetype to your druids or are hoping for a new ancestry to give your next character a bit of wild power, there’s plenty to play around with. The pocket edition is out now, so grab it whenever!
