Star Wars: Legion is getting The Bad Batch treatment with this new Operative Expansion. You’ll want to send in these Clones!

The Bad Batch is an infamous squad of “reject” Clone Troopers. Clone Force 99 has been dubbed “The Bad Batch” for a good reason. They have some rather interesting quirks due to, well, being clones! We’ve got the new boxed set in house thank to Atomic Mass Games and we’re diving into the box. Let’s do this!

The Bad Batch

One of the first things to note about this new Operative Expansion is that it’s got the new hard plastics but still has some of the older style cards. You can read about the Star Wars: Legion refresh here. The newer plastics are easy to work with and (I think) have better detail that the older stuff. I’m glad AMG made the switch for these miniatures.

Inside the box you get everything you’d expect to have for this kit. If you’d like to read more about the unit, it’s history, and some suggestions on how to run them AMG has a full breakdown as well. While I could go into the same details it’s probably better to hear it directly from the source. So I’ll just stick to commenting on the contents from a miniatures and component perspective.

The cards included have everything you need to run the squad. Again, this is an Operative Box so it does play a little funky. Each member brings something cool to the table and using them for those roles is really the heart of these cards. I also like that Omega has a card, too.

You get all the bases and tokens in the box for the unit, too. I really want to talk about these sculpts though. First off, I’m impressed that the whole squad fits on a single sprue. Secondly, I’m also impressed with the details and crispness of the sculpts. While I’m not the world’s biggest Star Wars: Legion fan, even I have to give this unit some credit. It’s really well done.

If you are a fan of Star Wars: Legion and you want to add the Bad Batch to your collection you’re not going to be disappointed. Shoot, I think if I get some extra hobby time I might just bust this unit out and work on it. And I know just what to watch while I work on it, too…

Each member really does have their own personality that shines through in miniature form. That’s really cool considering they are Clones!
