Star Wars: Shatterpoint -‘Not Accepting Surrenders’ Up Close
Thrawn is in the house and we’re taking a closer look at his miniature and Squad Pack for Star Wars: Shatterpoint.
The Not Accepting Surrenders Squad Pack is out now. We’ve ready taken a look at the actual contents and now we’re diving into the miniatures assembled. I’ve got some lessons I want to share with you so let’s get into it!
Not Accepting Surrenders Squad Up Close
To kick things off, we’ve got a look at the full squad. In total, you get Grand Admiral Thrawn, Agent Kallus, and two Imperial Security Bureau members. Style-wise, they do have that same Star Wars: Shatterpoint style/look that the other kits have. It’s that slightly more cartoonish proportion look than say Star Wars: Legion. I actually like it as it allows for a bit more character for each sculpt. It might not be for everyone but I still like these miniatures overall.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is up first and it’s a very classy pose. He’s got the look of an Imperial Officer for sure. I liked how AMG managed to get his pose with his hands behind his back. Building him was pretty easy. I was curious how the sculpt was going to fit together at first but a quick dry-fit and it all clicked for me. A little bit of plastic glue later and boom: Thrawn is ready to go (for primer and painting that is).
Agent Kallus is up next. This miniature actually has a couple of options. Not only can you do a head swap for a helmet you can also swap his weapon out for a different pose. Game-wise, I don’t believe this has any actual impact. But I went with the box art just for ease. I like this “power pose” and he’s definitely ready to “come at me, bro” his enemies.
The two ISB Agents are up next and they also have options for either helmets or just headsets.
I went with the headsets because frankly, the helmets just had more pieces to worry about. What can I say, I was feeling a little lazy after assembling the other two miniatures. But in the end they were also pretty easy builds. I think I spent more time clipping and cleaning the miniatures than actual assembly. Seriously, this whole kit goes together easy-breezy.
One of the nice parts about the AMG miniature kits is that most of the miniatures have pegs and holes that only fit with one other set. This means you can basically dry fit the miniatures without even needing instructions. Which, to be totally honest, is what happens to me a lot of the time. I’ll build these kits without needing access to the instructions because they really are dummy-proof. On the flip side, that does mean you don’t get a lot of customization in terms of poses — but for Shatterpoint where every model is basically a unique, that’s totally fine!
The cool part is this box is out now and you can snag one for yourself to build! If you want to read about his squad in game you can read about them here.
Thrawn’s Squad Pack is a winner in my book! What do you think of the Grand Admiral?
