Star Wars: Shatterpoint – ‘This Is Some Rescue! Squad Pack’ Unboxed
The classic prison break squad of Leia, Luke, Chewie, and Han are here with the This Is Some Rescue! Squad Pack for Star Wars: Shatterpoint!
Star Wars has some pretty key moments and right near the top of the list is the rag-tag rescue of Princess Leia from the Death Star. Now we’ve got a new Squad Pack to commemorate that moment in Star Wars. But more than that, you can bust them out on the tabletop as a part of your Shatterpoint games! We’ve got the box in house courtesy of Atomic Mass Games and we’re taking a look at the contents.
Leia is taking charge of this rescue! It’s time to dive into the box before we hit the trash compactor.

Kicking things off we’ve got the full contents laid out in the typical baggies we’ve come to expect from AMG products. I’ve been saving mine bags for bits and also for storage of the cards for later. I may need to figure out a better use for them or it’s a trip to the recycling bin for them…
As expected you also get a full set of cards supported in the multiple languages for this game. Additionally, the flyer inside has a link to the build instructions. But let’s see those sprues!
Technically, there’s two sprues — one for the bases and one for the miniatures. I did build them but more on that later. I also swapped out two of the dirt bases for the more “indoor” ones from another set. It looked more like the front of the box and considering they are all escaping from the Death Star that made more sense to me.
Quality-wise, the components are on par with other Shatterpoint miniatures. The hard plastic takes the details really well and is pretty easy to work with. I will say I liked the fur details on Chewbacca in particular. The trash-chute that Leia is standing on is also a really nice touch thematically.
Card-wise, you can see all the cards here, directly from AMG. Plus they wrote up a lot more info on how to use them in game here, too. What’s neat is we get Leia as the Primary, Luke as the Secondary, and Han/Chewie as the Supporting Unit. I think that in terms of mixing and matching this could lead to some really funny squads in the future.
Overall I think that even if you’re not a Shatterpoint player but rather just a fan of Star Wars this kit is worth snagging. Why? Because it’s just an iconic part of the mythos of Star Wars. I almost want to turn this into a diorama of some kind. It also doesn’t look to hard to paint-up either. There’s a lot of white but that’s really not that big of a deal. It’s certainly on my list of hobby projects in the future!
This Is Some Rescue! Squad Pack is already out and in stores. So snag it now for yourself!

“Princess Leia takes charge of things as a new Primary Character while Han and Luke use their stolen Stormtrooper armor and heroic daring alongside Chewbacca’s impressive strength to add powerful support to squads that need both offense punch and subterfuge. “
I think Han and Luke in Stormtrooper gear is a nice touch!
