The Cosmere RPG has broken the record set by Avatar Legends, and with three days to go, will leave the bar even higher for whoever’s next.

Brotherwise Games has a bona fide hit on their hands, and their game isn’t even out yet. Over the weekend, The Cosmere RPG’s Kickstarter Campaign broke records for the biggest tabletop roleplaying game campaign on the platform.

Previously, that had been held by Avatar Legends, which raised almost ten million – $9,535,317 to be exact – setting the bar almost out of reach. And then came Cosmere. With it, a tide of fans excited to explore the new mechanics and to dig into the magic systems with interwoven rules (and the setting with interwoven planets). Now, the Cosmere RPG sits at $10.7 million and counting, with three days left.

The Cosmere RPG Breaks Kickstarter Records With Days To Go

You know having days to go isn’t bad, as far as having a thing to go, is. Obviously not as good as “food to go” or “hot to go,” but much better than “you’ve got to go.”

But with its combined 37,003 backers, less than half of the backers for Avatar Legends, the Cosmere RPG has secured its place in the Kickstarter Hall of Records. Or at least the hall that leads to the room where the server that holds all that data lives.

It’s not hard to see why the game is so popular. It’s a take on 5E that moves it in a more narrative, looser direction while still maintaining the crunch necessary to let you live out your dreams of being the kind of hero who could rules lawyer their way to victory by knowing how to use their magic juuuuuust right.

“The Cosmere Roleplaying Game is a new system that encompasses the entire universe of Brandon Sanderson’s best-selling novels. This original RPG launches in 2025 with the Stormlight World Guide, Stormlight Handbook, and Stormlight Stonewalkers™ Adventure. It expands to include Mistborn® in 2026, with a steady rollout of new worlds and adventures for years to come!

This is a living RPG that will grow as Brandon Sanderson expands the universe of Cosmere novels, designed to tell standalone stories in each setting or sweeping Worldhopper campaigns that move between different planets.”

If you haven’t backed it yet, there’s still time, but it is running out.
