D&D Accessories: Bring Your Weapons to the Table

Your character brings their weapons everywhere, and now you can bring your own versions to the gaming table, too!

A big part of any tabletop RPG is the pageantry. We’re playing pretend at the table with our friends; sometimes we ham it up. So while we’re all hamming, let’s take a little time to physically bring our characters to the table… or at least their weapons. In fact, make a whole costume and dress as your character at the table this year. Y’know, for Halloween.

1. Sword Dice Holder

I’ve seen this dice holder so many times, and every time I’m immediately smitten. It’s a customizable dice-holding sword with lots of color options to choose from. Overall the entire item is smaller than you may think and a perfect size for slipping into your gaming bag without taking up a ton of room while the PLA makes for a sturdy dice box. Imagine sitting down at the game table and unsheathing your sword before the first roll.

2. Dice Shooting Crossbow

Is it practical? No. Is it a functioning but harmless weapon you can shoot at the table? Yes! Do I love it and want to buy one for each of the members of my party and record the DM’s reaction? Hell yes of course I do! The mechanic is simple, load your dice into the crossbow as if it were a bolt, shoot at the provided table shield, and travel forth into adventure!

3. Dice Hammer

This tower is just too much fun. Designed to look like a miniature war hammer, the inside is hollow and the side pops off to reveal a hidden dice tower and mini tray. It won’t travel as well as some other dice towers. But it WILL start 100% more conversations and be much more fun. And if you’re looking to make your dice hammer do double duty, these additional accessories will let you turn the hammer’s handle into an initiative tracker.

4. Build Your Own Dice Catapult

When I first saw this I said, “Is that a dice catapult?! That I can build? With plastic building blocks?!” And it is! Sort of! You don’t catapult the dice across the table at your players- as much as you may want to. Instead, you flip the dice up to the top of the tower and roll them back down into the same catapult tray. It’s brilliant, simple, and a fun little simple machine to add to your RPG experience.

5. Battle Axe of Dice

This battle axe does everything. It may do more than your character’s battle axe does… but don’t tell them that. The handle holds your dice between games, and once you get to the table the blade portion of your axe splits in half to work as a small dice rolling tray. And then the gold numbers spin for all of your number-keeping-track needs. This axe does it all.

What kind of weapons does your character use and are there any table-appropriate versions available? Did any of our weapon picks make it onto your wish list? Would you use your plastic table weapons responsibly or be the reason they’re banned by the DM? Let us know in the comments!

Happy adventuring!
