Games Workshop has the new batch of Blood Angels up for pre-order this weekend along side the Soulbound Starter Set.

So we already covered the new Blood Angels releases coming this week to pre-order. I’m excited about them personally because I want to get my hands on the new Codex, the Sanguinary Priest, and yes — even the new Sanguinary Guard. I have some of the old wings from the previous version and I want to see if I can make them work.

I’m also looking forward to getting the updated version of the Sanguinor, too. I know it’s basically identical to the old version but he’s Primaris’d size now. And honestly, I skipped the last version anyhow. But I want to update my Blood Angels with some of the new sculpts to go with my Primaris Marines as well. It’s been a process…

Anyhow, those are the products I’m currently interested in. There’s one other thing that caught my eye this week from Games Workshop — but maybe not for the reasons you might think. That product is the Soulbound Starter Set for the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar RPG from Crucible 7.

Soulbound Starter Set

via Warhammer Community

“Embark on your own adventures in the Mortal Realms with the new Starter Set for Soulbound – the tabletop roleplaying game set in the Age of Sigmar from Cubicle 7. Bring new players and experienced adventurers into the world of Soulbound, easing into the action with a comprehensive guide to the city of Brightspear, a 48-page introductory adventure, a map of Brightspear and the surrounding lands of Aspiria, plus character sheets, dice, and reference sheets.”

What made me do a double take about this product is that I could of sworn this wasn’t a new thing. Soulbound has been out for a while from Crucible 7. It’s a take on their C7D6 system which is to say you build a pool of dice (D6s) and roll them to get results based on the number of successes. Anyhow, I did some more digging and yes…this product came out almost 4 years ago.

That’s not a BAD thing, mind you. I’m just a little confused why it’s showing up in the pre-orders article from WarCom. I guess that maybe this product will now be available through GW directly? I guess we’ll find out this weekend. However, if you’re actually interested in Soulbound as an RPG, you don’t have to wait until this weekend to snag this product.

This product is literally available right now from Crucible 7. There’s also a good chance your FLGS might have it in stock or available to order from the distributor. Heck, you might be able to order from them and get it by this weekend — when the GW “pre-orders” go live.

It’s also worth noting that Soulbound has been out since 2024…which means there’s a TON of content for this game already. You can check the Crucible 7 website for all the products because there is plenty to go around.

This is just a snippet of their products. Anyhow, the point I’m trying to make here is that Soulbound isn’t new even if the Starter Set coming to pre-order might be. So if you’re looking for an RPG to use with all your AoS miniatures, you should check it out! Alternatively, if you’re looking for one to use with your 40k miniatures, Wrath & Glory is where you want to go for that.

Now, if they’d just steal my idea and make a Necromunda RPG expansion I could play an official version of that and not my homebrew stuff…

Blood Angels and RPGs? Could be a good week for me and tough one for my wallet.
